Namaste! Let us learn today from Rahul Gandhi and his experiments with congress politics. This is our Saturday Case Study. He is doing PAD YATRA from 7th September 2022. It's been about 3 months since he is walking. He started his journey from the south and now he is going all the way to the North. The YATRA is unique in various ways.

What does History say about the TRAVEL of Great People?

Look at the long history of any spiritual masters – Buddha / Mahavir / Shankaracharya and N number of spiritual gurus. They all did PAD YATRA in their time. Jain Sadhus keep on travelling even today.

Gandhi Ji did the PAD YATRA his time to unite people against British Rule in India. Modi Ji keeps on travelling in various parts of the world and in India. Lal Krishna Advani did the Rath Yatra in September 1990.

Jim Rodgers, the investor, has travelled the world two times – one time on a Bike and another time in a CAR. Even today he keeps on travelling.

The point is behind every great religion, political party or investor has one common point – TRAVEL.

What happens when you TRAVEL?

Even after losing power in most of the states – Congress is still in the game. The reason – their past leaders – including GANDHI JI – did the massive travel to connect with the people at the grass root levels.

When you travel – you come to know the Terrain. You know the grass root people. You know the reality of your country or area. You get connected with the people in the innermost area.

The best advantage of RAHUL GANDHI will be he is reconnecting with the grass root people in various parts of the country. In the process of travelling – he is exploring HIMSELF and I am sure his personality will change over a period of time due to these experiences.

What are the lessons for investors?

A typical investor watches the Business TV Channels and the news. If he is a little more serious, he will do GOOGLE STUDY. If he is even more serious, he will read more than one business NEWSPAPERS and Magazine.  

All his learning is from the comfort of his drawing room or office or his study room. What’s more, he is learning from the opinions of other people. Most of these people who are influencing normal people through Various Media are also doing their analysis sitting in the AC Cabin. So, there is a huge disconnect with the grass root reality. Rahul Gandhi was doing the same thing for the last 20 years or so. But he is changing.

Experience V/s Belief: -

Given a choice – all normal people prefer to BELIEVE something rather than have a personal experience. Their beliefs become so powerful over a period of time that they prefer to stick to it even though scientific proofs of the opposite effects of their beliefs are shared with them.

If one studies honestly about himself – he will find that he is nothing but a collection of beliefs and opinions of the people around him. Very few people have the guts to explore on their own and find the truth.

They mostly change their belief when they lose all. Rahul Gandhi also changed when CONGRESS lost all powers and the life of the CONGRESS PARTY is at stake.

Super Success always comes when your experiences precede your beliefs and opinions. This is applicable in RELIGIONS / POLITICS and LIFE as a whole.
