“I want to earn tons of Profits but I am making tons of Losses. Why?”

Dear Fellow Travellers,

Namaste! English proverb says – “Man is known by the company he keeps”. But you can become immortal if you keep the company of the legendary people around you. In the same way, investors can invest in legendary companies and enjoy the wealth created beyond their imagination. But our upbringing and our so-called good behaviour are the root cause of our mediocre lifestyle. Many readers have asked me the above question in various forms. The main message is – I have come to the market for Profit – how come I am making losses? Let us study the same.

Moses to Gandhi Ji – all great people have the common Message: -

Look at the 10 commandments of Moses. Look at the message from Gandhi ji in the form of 3 monkeys. Between Moses and Gandhi ji – N number of great people have said the same kind of messages. The underline message is – “DO GOOD and GOOD will HAPPEN with you”.

When these great people said the above messages – they really meant from within. But for the generations after them – the above behaviour became RITUAL / Religious procedure or Social Norms.

They may use the words like – Theft is Sin / Speak the Truth – but in reality, they want to do the opposite. But thanks to a lack of guts or honesty – they could not muster the courage to go against the established NORMS.

What happens when this kind of person comes to the market?

They talk about Wealth Creation / Long Term Investing and another esoteric name that earns them a good impression in the eyes of other people or society. But all they want is a quick profit and short-term return.

But they don’t have the guts to say that upfront / they don’t have the mental skill sets to withstand the volatility of the market / many of them even don’t have basic investing skills. Most so-called successful investors consider themselves successful or knowledgeable investors just because they bought some companies at the right price due to their luck and they made them good money. They consider their luck as their skills!

The market is the smartest phenomenon around us. Nobody can cheat it. But if you are honest from within and do your hard work – it will reward you like anything in spite of your tons of failures. Buffett had 215 companies and only 15 companies moved as per his expectations – still, he became the number one investor in the world.

What happens when you are asking for Only Profit?

Profit and Loss are always Zero-sum games. Somebody’s loss is your profit and somebody’s profit is your loss. So, when you ask for only profit – you are subconsciously asking that the other person should lose. This is against the NATURAL LAW. Your wish that you only make profits is a dangerous wish and it is not supported by NATURAL LAW. So, your failure is guaranteed.

What is my reply to the reader of the above question?

Go inward and find out your real intentions of investing. If your intentions are right while investing – I can assure you of success at the end of the process. Use your initial failures as your learning lessons. Over a period of time, you will become a mature investor and tons of profits will come whether you want to or not.
