How about writing an Essay on your PET DOG?

Today we are taking an equally important topic. With the CORONA – the demand for PET has increased and there are more and more families with PET nowadays than before CORONA. I have come across one such incidence. Let me share.

A Friend’s Son Was Asked to Write an Essay on pet Dog: -

Son was in the first standard only so he went to his father (my friends for the help). His father wrote a nice essay and the kid went to the school happily next day.

But when he came back from school he was crying. He went to his father and said – my teacher told me that the essay is the same which you wrote for my elder brother 2 years back.

My friend smiled at the kid and said – “My sweetie pie – the Dog is the same. How can I write the new essay?”

Which Dog I am referring to you?

A dog is our mind. It is full of GREED / FEAR / IGNORANCE and HOPE. Every time something happens in our life – we have the above 4 parameters to judge the event as good or bad.

If the market goes up – you become greedy to buy more. Your Greed is joined by Ignorance about the rise in the market. All you know is that you want to make fast money and the shares which are moving fast are good shares. I see people selling their last shirt when the TEJU ends abruptly in many of the so-called TEJI counters. Now, when the market goes down – you become fearful and hold the shares in the HOPE that they will move up someday.

I have studied the long history of investment psychology from 1900 to 2022. In the last 122 years – the thinking patterns of all the investors are the same be it in the USA or India or any other part of the World.

So, DOG is the same. The DOG food can be Shares / Mutual funds/bonds/commodities or Cryptos. The dog will behave the same way to all of them.

It doesn’t matter much whether he is educated or not educated. He will behave in the same pattern.

How to Balance the DOG – i.e. Mind?

Two questions will help you to balance your mind.

1.   If there is SUPER TEJI in the market and there are talks of a multi-fold increase in the stock prices and if you are also planning to buy – ask this question – If stock is going to move up multi-fold from this levels – why is somebody selling his shares to you?

2.   If there is a SUPER MANDI in the market and there are talks of Nifty going to 10000 and everybody is singing the same song – ask this question – if the stock market is going downwards and stocks are hitting the lower circuits – how come some investors are buying at all the levels?

The chances are very high that you will be forced to think about some missing factors which might be motivating them to sell in the TEJI and buy in the MANDI.

The market is full of stories about the negative effects due to WAR, Natural Calamities, and other local issues in different countries. There are a lot of experts who are talking about MANDI at this moment.

Now, small investors have no time to read the facts or do the research in detail. They go with the flow and sell their shares. Inadvertently, it happens that when they sell their shares and market moves up. I am sure many readers would have observed this kind of thing happening to them.
