Are you doing a Brisk Walk or Running on the Treadmill?
Dear
Fellow Travellers,
Namaste!
With the change in the time and development of science, we have more
options for doing our routine things like running and walking. Nowadays you don’t
have to go out of your home to run or do a brisk walk. You just have to keep one
TREADMILL in your home and the things are set. Whether you have it or not at
your place, chances are very bright that you are still running on the treadmill. Let us explore.
Look at a Normal Job doing person or small business person: -
He
goes to the job and gets his paycheck month to month. If he doesn’t get the
salary for 2-3 months – he will be in trouble.
In the same way, the small shopkeeper will have to go to the shop every day without fail
to make the business run.
We
have seen what had happened to both the category of the people during the lockdown
in 2020.
A treadmill is a concept in which you remain busy all the time but do not produce something
worthwhile for yourself and your generations. You remain at the SAME PLACE and
you believe that you have run for 10Km or walked for 5 Km.
Just
look at yourself and all your activities from the last 5-25-65 years. Your job
title might have changed. Your income might have changed. But you still have to
go to your office or shop. You still have to do all the work. You still have the
same attitude toward earning money that you had on the first day when you started
the job or business. Many are working even after 60 or 70. Earning money every
day / every month is proof that you are running on the TREADMILL whether
you have it or not in your home.
The
problem with the shopkeeper is more serious. He is not ready to leave his
business to his son and he still goes to the shop whether he is doing something
productive or not? This creates a fight between the son and the father.
Some
people run on TREADMILL out of habit. They can’t stop the running. If it stops,
they start developing insecurity about their future. They have made good money
but they have not developed the habit to leave the treadmill. The main reason
is that when they started running – they gave all their time to this and not to
some other life-enhancing habits.
Thanks
to the lack of these habits – they missed enjoying the miracle called life.
What is the solution?
“Begin with the end in mind” – the day you start your business or job or the day you realize that
you are running on the treadmill – you should prepare for your end game.
Normally
educated people are not financially educated people. They may have degrees in finance but achieving financial freedom is not their goal. They start with
the assumption that someday they will make tons of money and leave everything–
but since they lack the financial education – they miss the bus and they keep
on wasting time in their corporate politics and business competitions.
Another
problem is their belief – they want to make tons of money in one go. This rarely
happens and if at all it has happened with some lucky ones – they have not been able
to keep their money for a long time. Look at the life of the first winner of
the KBC.
How to prepare for Begin with an End?
This
is the most difficult thing to do in life. I am sharing my own journey. Biographies
and Auto-Biographies and books on the great people of the past and our time are
the best source to develop a vision for your tomorrow. Look at Narendra Modi
and his life. He has gone from Zero to Hero and become a Super Hero due to his
varied reading, work ethic, and ability to continuously learn.
Do
you think he is working for Money / Name and Fame? He has transcended all. He
is just working for the sake of working. It is his passion. In the process of
following his passion – he has made a ton of difference in the life of his country's
people. He is actually running and not running on the treadmill.
The
one point to take you to your actual running could be your own passion over and
above your job or business or profession. Your passion can take you out of the
TREADMILL faster than anything else.
Today
we are dealing with just one way to BEGIN with an END – develop your passion along
with your job/business.
