ABCL to ADFL – Runway or Run Away?

Namaste! It is said History repeats itself. The co-incidence happened when the top actor who started ABCL and lost tons of money acted in the movie of another top actor who started his production house ADFL and directed his first movie Runway 34. Both have come together. Another co-incidence both are starting with the letter A. Rahu has just entered into Mesh Rashi. 

How Human Mind Works?

A person who has become successful in one field develops a strong urge to do something more. He goes in search of some new areas or goes for upline or down line in the same venture. A successful shopkeeper decides to become a wholesaler or manufacturer or start some more branches of his shops. This is an expansion in the same line. But to assume that the skill sets which made him a good shopkeeper will make him a good wholesaler or good manufacturer is a different story altogether.  

When a person reaches age 45-55, he would have become fairly successful in his business or job. Now he has fewer responsibilities for kids and his wife is also busy in her life. He thinks why not do something else?  

Amitabh also did the same by launching ABCL and now Ajay is following his footsteps. In the movie industry, it is said that if you want to ruin somebody – ask him to go for movie production.

I am not saying Ajay will fail or I don’t have his horoscopes. All I am saying is that being an ACE actor and being an ACE director and producer are 180-degree opposite skill sets and the movie (documentary) proves the point. As an actor he will be able to attract the viewers but based purely on the movie – it will not be that much appealing.

Middle-Class Investors V/s Seasoned investors: -

A person who has come from HAVE NOT background or has seen Struggle will develop a DO IT YOURSELF attitude. He will not trust people and try to do everything by himself, whether he is an expert in that area or not. He operates out of EGO – if I can do this business or job very well, why I can’t do investment or some other activities equally well?

Buffett kind of investors are also coming from the ZERO but they know their limitations. They stick to their CIRCLE OF COMPETENCE. Buffett has bought tons of businesses in the last 60 years. The smartest move he has done is not to manage them. He just became the owner and allowed the existing management to run the show as a routine. This has made him super successful.

What happens to the person who becomes super successful in the first shot in the new venture?

Many times NOVICE investors come to the market purely out of the GREED to make money. Thanks to the market or thanks to their luck – they make tons of money in the first transactions only.

Now, they are not at all experts to handle the investments but just because they got the first shot successful – they make two wrong assumptions – Investment is EASY and I am an EXPERT.

Equipped with these two beliefs – he jumps even bigger the second time and starts losing. He will take an even bigger risk for 3rd time and 4th time and 5^th time. The end result will be – that he will end up losing what he has earned so far from his previous or regular business income.

In the last 30 years of my journey in the stock market – I have seen many such people selling their houses and going on RENT or starting a JOB at the age of 60 plus. The funny attitude is they are okay to lose all but they are not ready to spend money on a Personal Investment Consultant.

What NEXT?

It is said in the movie Amitabh said these dialogue two times – Once the Mistake is Done – there are three options.

1.   Accept the mistakes.

2.   Learn from the mistakes.

3.   Never repeat the mistakes.
