Bible says – “Love your Enemies”. What about “Hate Your Friends”?

Namaste! Our post on 3Ps from two different perspective was super hit. As expected – our MBA readers liked the concept of PRASHANT JAIN more compared to P C SORCAR’s 3Ps. It is quite normal to like well-designed GARDEN compared to JUNGLE. Prashant Jain talks about GARDEN. P C SORKAR talks about JUNGLE.

Taking this matter forward, we are talking about the most famous advice from BIBLE – Love your Enemies.

What happens when you LOVE YOUR ENEMIES?

First of all this is very difficult to do. If at all you are able to do – you will have no ENEMIES.

All will be your friends only.

Those who have PURITAN thinking pattern or perfectionist attitude will like this idea very much. Most of the people have this idealistic thinking pattern for happiness. If everything is GOOD, all situations are good, all people are good, and all KARMAS are good – they aspire that kind of life. They want to earn PUNYA / SWARG / MOKSHA.

In practice you will see very few people are able to LOVE THE ENEMIES.

What about HATE YOUR FRIENDS?

This should be the second part to complete the sentence. This is not said in BIBLE because this is followed practically in all the relationships. Check your relationships and you will find that the person who are your near and dear, you love them. But there are moments when you HATE them for sure. Just say NO to your SON – DAUGHTER or WIFE when they demand something and you find that they don’t NEED at that moment. You will have instant reactions.  

Since HATE is a BAD WORD – people have lot of GUILT when they HATE there near and dear or they are afraid to agree. They do HATE but they are not OPEN to accept the same. But if you observe the behavior of them – you can make out that there are moments in which we are not really loving them.

When you follow both the sentences together – what will happen in your life?

You will have no ENEMIES (love your enemies) and you will not have Friends also (hate your friends). Slowly and gradually you will reach to the mental state of NEUTRALITY towards every being. You will transcendent beyond ENEMY and FRIEND. You will see everybody as a HUMAN for the first time in your life. You will give HUMANITY a first priority above all consideration.

Sant Tulsidas Ji had said the same idea in a different way – DAYA DHARAM KA MOOL HEY. (root of religion is compassion).

You will have real compassion towards your fellow travelers.

How this can affect your investment performance?

My field is investing and to become better investor every day is my goal. If I am a better investor – chances of picking up better investment idea increases.

Normal investor are taken for a ride with SURE SHOT RETURN / ASSURED RETURN schemes and tons of scams are coming day in and day out. Here also people blame the CHEATERS or SCAMMERS.

The real problem is with the NORMAL People's mind sets of wanting ONLY PROFIT / ASSURED RETURN. The way – LOVE YOUR ENEMIES is not possible – making profit every time is not going to be possible. You must be ready for LOSSES also.

As per the data only 6-7% of the Indian population is investing in STOCKS. But we all are 100% dealing with the fellow human beings.

So, let us start with the BIBLE ADVICE plus the missing part which I have added. This will make us better human for sure and better human will make us better investor for sure.
