BAAZAAR – a stock market film or super spiritual
film?
Greetings from Hitesh! Saif Ali Khan is passing through
one of the best times in recent years in his career and personal life. Daughter
has started career in film / got a new son – Taimur / Super success of Web
Series – Sacred Games and latest is success of film – BAAZAAR. Most of the guys
have seen this movie as a SHARE MARKET film. I am seeing the same as SUPER SPIRITUAL
FILM. Let me deal with the same.
How the events in the movie unfolds?
A rookie trader Rohan comes to Mumbai with a dream
to become successful like SHAKUN KOTHARI. By his smart way he gets a job as a
trader in a company where SHAKUN trades.
Shakun wanted to take over a PHARMA company, so he manages
MEDIA and other aspects and pharma company shares falls like nine pins. Luckily,
Rohan called up the PHARMA company MD and got these shares sold to SHAKUN.
Shakun gives him Rs.100 Crs for trading with a
mandate that he must not lose his money. This guy ends up losing money. So, Shakun
gives him a Deadline to convert loss into profit. Out of NOWHERE, PRIYA (his
collegue) gives him a tip about some company and ROHAN trades and covers up
loss of SHAKUN.
Slowly ROHAN gets into the inner circle of SHAKUN
and SHAKUN opens a company for TELECON license on his name. SHAKUN sold of the
shares before the license is announced and make a killing. Now, ROHAN is on the
road. He fights back, and the movie ends with SHAKUN starting his life again after
jail.
I have knowingly missed some of the aspects of the
movie as most would have seen the same or can see the same. I wanted to deal
with some other aspect of the movie.
Do you think you can be successful on your own?
We take credit for the success and blame other for
the failures.
(In the movie SHAKUN had made sure that this guy
gets the TIP, makes money and come near to him).
Existence / Nature / GOD – whatever word you like –
through his associates like PRIYA (e.g. parents / teachers/ friends/relatives) –
makes sure that you get the TIP / Opportunity / JOB / Business Idea, so that
you can become successful. The only problem here is that we take the credit for
the success rather than giving it to Existence.
(The mistake is – when SHAKUN asked ROHAN – how did
you know about the TIP, ROHAN becomes silent. He was not honest enough to tell
that it was TIP and not his smartness that made the money).
Existence knows that we are not honest, so it takes
us for a ride with more and more lucrative opportunities. Every time, we get success,
we end up taking a credit. Now, existence, plays a twist in the game which ends
up giving us huge loss. We start blaming it or fighting with it for the same.
(In the movie, SHAKUN has never taken the blame for
another people’s failure on him. He showed them the mirror that they were the
reasons for their failures or loss).
As per MOVIE everything is MANAGED. If this is TRUE
- How to live LIFE or INVEST under such circumstances?
The way our intelligence has been trained over generations
/ the way our EGO operates – it is difficult to agree to the logic that we are
NOBODY in the total scheme of the things.
(Whether we like or not - Shakun has N number of ROHAN
to ride but there is only one SHAKUN for N number of ROHAN).
Knowing this – all the religions of the WORLD talks
about SURRENDER to the GOD concept. They say you surrender, and HE will do
whatever is the best for you.
The most Successful investors like BUFFETT never
takes a call on MARKET. They say market is GOD. Buffett has N number of times
admitted that it is impossible to outperform market for a long period of time. His
surrender to the market is so high that he says – I am 100% okay of market shuts
down for 10 years, after my investments.
Have you observed that alive person jumps into SEA
and drowns, and dead body of the same person is floating? This means with EGO,
you will go down and without EGO you will float.
So, the best way to operate under MANAGED environment
is to surrender.
What NEXT?
Movie can be seen in many ways. This was my way of
seeing the BAAZAAR. Hope you like it.
