A Couple went to
Terrace to commit suicide in COVID Times – an Eye-Opening Story. Lessons for
Investors
Dear Fellow
Travelers,
Namaste! July
ended with a heavy gain in Nifty and Sensex. Hope you have enjoyed the rally. Our
last post on EDUCATION SYSTEM change thanks to RAHU movement has been appreciated
for out accuracy and timely guidance. I thank all the readers for taking their time
to read my post and appreciate our efforts.
Today I am
sharing a realistic story and it has a really good learning lesson for investors.
COVID 19 and
Suicide Cases: -
Thanks to lockdown, the middle class faced the toughest time. They suffered in two ways mainly. The first
was the loss of income and second was staying home for 24*7. When income goes
down or remains low and expenses are the same – naturally the atmosphere in the
home becomes tense. The blame game starts. Due to restrictions of lockdown, you can’t
go out and that also affects the EGO – as independence is affected. These
mainly results in the fights with the family members.
Those family
whose Members suffered COVID -19 are not that much affected by the lockdown as
they got the reason to blame the COVID-19. But those who did not suffer – they blamed
the MODI GOVERNMENT or their family members.
I would say – “If
you or your Close RELATIVE has not SUFFERED by COVID-19, then you have suffered by
LOCKDOWN without fail.”
One such family
suffered due to lockdown and they went for SUICIDE on the Terrace. They decided
to jump from the Terrace at the count of 3.
So, 1, 2 and 3 –
HUBAND Jumped. The wife didn’t.
Wife kept on
watching the Husband falling down. Just after 8 seconds – Husband opened the
PARACHUTE to save his life.
Now the
questions come……
1. Who CHEATED –
wife or husband? You may say both cheated each other.
2. If they were
bored with each other – they could have parted their ways in their home only –
amicably. Why these NATAK of SUICIDE or cheating?
Market and
Investors: -
The above is a
ZEN KOAN. They are given to the students to test their progress in the ZEN. The
objective is not to get the correct answer but to test the attitude of a student.
Let us see a couple
as Normal Investors.
Normal investor
comes to the market for investments and wealth creations. But he has his own doubts,
hypocrisy, and dishonesty within like husband and wife. He wants an EASY way out.
There is no EASY way in LIFE and INVESTMENTS. There are SIMPLE WAYS but SIMPLE ways
are not necessarily EASY.
If normal
investor jumps in the market like HUSBAND – he will find out the reason for not
staying in the market / for not exploring the market with an open mind and he will
use those reasons (like PARACHUTE) to get out of the market. It can be any foolish
reason or fall in the market.
He may come to
the market but keep waiting on the FENCE like a WIFE – watching other people
making money or losing. He will make judgments about MARKET-based on other
people’s observations. Even he doesn’t know what is happening to the people in reality.
(wife will not come to know the pain or pleasure of Husband using a parachute).
She will just assume that he cheated her.
If you think - Husband
and Wife in the above story lost faith after they saved each other in the futile
suicide attempt, then you are 100% wrong. They did not have faith when they
decided to go to the terrace in the first place. The Suicide attempt just proved
their judgment that their partner is not TRUSTWORTHY.
The same way normal investor does not lose money in the market. He has lost it before he enters
the market due to his – unpreparedness / unrealistic expectations and lack of
guts. He is destined to lose. Just that Market is taking the blame.
What NEXT?
There is a
Saying – What you Sow, is what, you will reap. Be honest with yourself. You can’t
cheat Market. You are cheating yourself only. Your hidden agenda, hypocrisy, and
cheating will make you naked in the market sooner or later.
Make your
choice.
Have a happy
investing.
