Philosophy Of Investment V/s Art Of Investment

Greetings from Hitesh! Thank for showing interest in learning My Investment System. I have received lot many email showing INTEREST. Though I am replying each email personally – I just want to inform you all through this email also – If I get enough members – I will surely start the same.

Today I am going to talk about the most important aspect as mentioned above. The misunderstanding in the above two areas are the main cause of failure as an investor.

How to Understand Philosophy?

We always use this word very casually. Let me share the dictionary meaning of the same.

1.   The study of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning.

2.   The rational investigation of questions about existence and knowledge and ethics

3.   A belief (or system of beliefs) accepted as authoritative by some group or school

All our analysis  - fundamental / technical or otherwise are the part of these logical reasoning.

Most young investors want logic for everything they are asked to do. They believe that if you can’t have logical reasons – it’s not worth doing!! Their focus is on WHY and HOW of anything they want to do.

Let me share a beautiful example to make my point clear to you.

Say you are going to a village in a monsoon. You are roaming and as the villages are – you find MUD everywhere. You see water logging and it is creating more and more mud in surrounding area.

But suddenly you see beautiful LOTUS coming out of the mud. All your life you have stayed in Mumbai and you have only seen old and used LOTUS outside MAHALAXMI TEMPLE. So you are attracted towards the FRESH one. You cross the MUD and you pluck the LOTUS.  You find, LOTUS is untouched by the WATER Or MUD. What’s more it is giving you a very sweet fragrance.

Now let us see ART of Investments:-

If you read the above example – it is clear that without MUD you can’t have LOTUS and without LOTUS you can’t have SWEET FRAGERANCE.

But when you are having a FRAGERANCE – will you remember the MUD. Even when the LOTUS is GONE – will you forget the FRAGERANCE?

Mud will remain till the monsoon is there. Lotus will remain for a day or two. But the FRAGEREANCE will remain in your memory for your lifetime. Am
I right?

What am I trying to say?

All your system / your logic can show you an investment opportunity (the way you saw LOTUS). Once you have got the opportunity, you have to embrace the same with two hands.

You can’t embrace with two hands – if you use LOGIC. You need WISDOM for the same. Logic is a product of MIND and Wisdom is a Product of No-Mind. So, you will have to cross the MUD/ spoil your shoes/clothes to get the LOTUS. If you are not ready to cross the MUD or spoil your clothes – you will have to pay to the guy who can get it for you.

In this way Wisdom is a part of ART and not the part of Philosophy.

How to Get Wisdom?

If you are climbing a LADDER of Investment Success the first step is LOGIC and last step is WISDOM. Wisdom is hidden in the LOGIC – the way BUTTER is hidden in the CURD. You need to do lot of CHURNING of CURD to get the BUTTER.

In this way you may call WISDOM – the ultimate LOGIC or LOGICLESS Logic.

What is MY ADVICE to budding investor?

Anybody can give you LOGIC/SYSTEM or share an investment idea with you. If you are not ready to CHURN the same – you won’t embrace the same with two hands. In the end you will make some money or lose some money, but will never make BIG MONEY.

We have observed this with N number of clients and small investors dealing with my brokerage firm. So, we always suggest them to be with us for 3 years. 3 years is nothing but 1000 days or 10000 hours (10 hours per day). All your management literature tells you that you need 10000 hours to master any system!! In a way they are telling you that you will come out of LOGIC Paradigm to WISDOM Paradigm in 10000 hours!!

What Next?

I have become expert in crossing the MUD and I love it as it gives me LOTUS every time I cross it.
