On Dussehra, let us remember RAVAN / Mulla Nasiruddin and Small Investor

Dussehra Greetings to all of you. Our post on DIWALI was well received by readers. Today we are taking another step-in learning from RAVAN and Mulla Nasiruddin.

RAVAN: -

RAVAN had 10 faces and they are symbols of 4 VED and 6 SHASHTRAS. It means he was well learned and fully equipped to deal with Worldly issues and take himself to the path of spirituality. The other meaning of 10 faces is 10 senses. 5 senses of organs and 5 senses of knowledge. Despite having super knowledge – he was controlled by SENSES, so, he lost. Ravan did not cheat himself in showing his black side to the society. But Mulla Nasiruddin was smarter.

MULLA NASIRUDDIN: -

In olden times, Donkeys were used to commute between places and Mulla had his own Donkey. Once Mulla was riding it and it was running like anything. Passers by asked Mulla, where is he heading so fast? Mulla said, I don’t know. Please ask DONKEY. The issue was, DONKEY was uncontrollable by Mulla, so Mulla has decided to let DONKEY decide where Mulla must go!! Mulla is not HONEST enough to say that he is not able to control his DONKEY.

How does this apply to SMALL Investors?

Most Small investors are well educated and have successful track record in their own business or job. But when they come to the Market, their EMOTIONS take a FRONT SEAT and they forget all basics about the BUSINESS CYCLES and MARKET PSYCHOLOGY. Deep down they know that they are not able to manage their emotions, but like Mulla they blame the MARKET.

How you can CELEBRATE this DUSSEHRA with a DIFFERENCE?

Please be aware of your EMOTIONS while you are investing. Keep on watching them. I don’t want you to control them. Because, it they were controllable, RAVAN would have been the first person to do the same.

In current time we are seeing ME TOO movements. They are also the resutls of LAPSES in SENSES.

According to my GURU, the best way to control all your senses is to just watch them. When you watch them, you will see that you have transcended them. Don’t waste your time and energy in controlling them.
