In the book the SECRET, they talk about the Law of Attraction and you are talking about the Law of Reverse Effect?

Greetings from Hitesh! Reading our scientific post on – how come I have losses when I want to profit? - one of the readers asked the following questions - In the book the SECRET, they talk about the Law of Attraction and you are talking about the Law of Reverse Effect? If I am attracting profits how come I have losses? Is the Author of the book is misguiding her 3 crore readers? Just explain.

This question may appear to be really logical, but I can say with conviction that the reader has neither read my blog nor book the SECRET properly. Still, I will deal with this. To know the subtle difference – we must know which laws are operating at a particular stage and how to overcome them or take benefit from them.

At what stage, which LAW becomes operative?

The Law of Reverse Effect is effective when you are TRYING something NEW or against your will. Say you want to do dieting and it's against your will. You love food so much that you can’t resist eating. So, when you are TRYING to do DIETING – the law of reverse effect will come into play. 

But when you have passed the threshold of 21 days – you get the momentum in doing dieting. Once Momentum comes – Law of Attraction comes into play. Now, you see the benefits of dieting and your overall energy levels are good. You start loving the process and you attract good results of dieting. 

How does this apply to the Investors?

One of the reasons why small guys are manipulated by Mutual Funds and other VESTED interest guys is that they don’t enter into the MOMENTUM phase at all. 

Many investors tell me that they are unlucky when it comes to the share market. When I ask them the reason – they say they had done one transaction based on some TIP or their broker’s advice lost their money. Most guys who believe they are unlucky have not built up the momentum for trading or investments. They have done very few transactions based on GREED/FEAR. All their focus was on not making a LOSS at that time. And they made the loss. 

Now, they have not spent time in skill development or building up momentum. So, the Law of Attraction will not apply. 

How to develop Momentum for TRADING and Investments?

Way back my business mentor taught me a rule which I apply every day. He told me – “If you do things you don’t like, you will get things that you want in life.”

Nobody likes getting up early in the morning and go for jogging or walking. The result is good health.

Nobody likes to face complaining bosses or customers every day. The result is job promotion or earning.

Nobody likes paying money to a consultant for their advice. The result is easy and fast results. 

Nobody likes to take out time from a busy schedule and read 30 pages of a book. The result – you will be ahead of your colleagues in terms of knowledge.

If you honestly review your day – you will see you are not liking may things but you are doing them. The things which can motivate your above activities are your GOALS and your DREAMS. Unless you have very demanding goals from yourself, you will not love to do the above activities.

The key to building Momentum is to have challenging DREAMS and GOALS. Unless you have them in the first place – you will not take any other steps. 

What NEXT?

In my 28 years journey, I have seen that the guys who come to the market with HOPE / GREED and FEAR do not last long. Those who come to the market with a BURNING DESIRE to fulfill their dreams only stay for a longer time to build the momentum. Once they build the momentum, nothing can stop them as MOMENTUM takes care of the results on its own.
