How to use BOOKS / BIOGRAPHIES and Religious Books for Personal Growth? Very few readers know this secret.

Many readers wrote back with their kind words of appreciation. I thank you all for being an active reader. Today, the reading has gone up. Thanks to WHATSAPP / TWITTER / DIGITAL MEDIA and traditional books. People are reading more and more books than earlier times. In spite of so many digital options – today also physical books are produced in more numbers than earlier times. This is really good news.

How to use books?



There can be N number of ways in which one can use the books. Today I am showing you the most effective way to use the books. But before that let me take an example of GOOGLE MAP again.



Say you want to go from A to B. Google Map can show you the way/traffic/places in between. You have not started the journey yet but you know that on the road, you will get a particular restaurant/temple/garden/school, etc., etc. 


Now, you start the journey and as the map had shown you earlier – you will find that the places are coming as per the map.



In the process of going from A to B – MAP has become PROOF for your journey. Now, you can say that MAP is 100% right or 100% wrong.



I suggest the same thing to apply when you read books.



Most guys read the books and get motivated/knowledgeable/informed. Many guys with a good memory can repeat the VERBATIM whatever is written in the books. Many guys use this reading as preaching to the masses. This is the seer waste of time and money in buying and reading the books. It may have some monetary value or social value – but it has ZERO value for your inner growth.



The right way is to follow the book’s way. When you follow the way given in the book  – you gain the experience and that book becomes proof for your experience. Say a budding Investor reads BUFFETT ANNUAL LETTERS and follows the practice what BUFFETT has followed. Over a period of time – BUFFETT ANNUAL LETTER will be PROOF for his successful journey towards becoming a better investor.



Same way when you read your spiritual books – till the time you follow the way recommended in it – you can’t prove the book right or wrong. 99.99% of the guys are happy reading / reciting and talking about their religious and spiritual books. They personally have not taken efforts to travel the way recommended in the books. For them, the book becomes a source of just information and not a life transformation. They may appear knowledgeable in their circle but they lost the life-transforming opportunity by not experiencing the book.



How does this relate to NORMAL INVESTOR?



I have the privilege of working with the best of the brains in Accountancy/ LAW / SCIENCE / BANKING / Engineering / Medicines. They have spent years taking their DEGREE and they regularly keep on updating their skillsets about their field. They have gained the experience of becoming what they are today.



But when these guys come to the market – they don’t want to go through the experience of becoming INVESTOR. They want an IDEA to change their financial destiny. When they don’t make – they want to blame LUCK / their advisor or broker or market or Government.



Like all fields INVESTMENT is a SIMPLE thing but they want to make it EASY. Most guys when hearing word SIMPLE, listen to it as EASY in their mind. Last week we had also written below post to deal with this mindset.

Let your book reading enrich you with the experience of the book rather than just information. Your EXPERIENCE will stand with you in the times of CRISIS and all your superfluous information will shun you when you need it the most.
