Real Learning from the BEAUTIFUL story – 99% missed.

Hello! I keep on checking mass psychology through my blogs in my own style. Today morning we shared a story of a GAMBLER – who lost everything – went to pee – somebody gave him Rs.1 to open the door – but the door was opened so – he saved Rs.1 and played gambling with the same and made tons of money. With that money he started a business and became very successful. In his old age he gave the credit for his success to the guy who kept the door open instead of the guy who gave him Rs.1.

Amazing response came. They were divided in two parts. Most of the readers felt that “He should have been grateful to the person who gave Rs.1” and not to the person who kept the door open. If I look at the 200 responses 198 were divided between the above 2 areas. Out of the 198 persons – 170 gave credit to the person who gave Rs.1.
Most were talking about MORALS / ETHICS / GRATEFULNESS / SYMPATHY / EMPATHY / Courtesy.
From the age old – Religious leaders / politicians and top guys have smartly divided the people on Religions / Caste / Income and other criteria. So, it’s normal to miss the point of the story.
They miss that they are HUMAN BEING first and then countrymen and then religions /caste / rich or poor. So, the habit played the trick and they missed the learning from the story.
What is the CRUX of the STORY?
The main point of the story is WHAT YOU ARE at the end of the day. He was a gambler to the core at the end of the day. He loved living the life on the EDGE – He lived the life full of RISK. He loved taking risks.
After making 5.5 lakhs he could have invested in the FD / SIP / MUTUAL FUNDS / Given on INTEREST.
But he took the risk and invested the money in FAST FOOD JOINT. Then he EXPANDED.
The lesson is – what you get is not important. What you do with what you have will decide your journey at the end of the day.
Where is the focus of most investors?
Those who are investing are talking about only one thing – which instrument will give me more return? Which company will move up fast? Which MF NAV will move up fast? How much will I make?
Many HNIs have 5 to 10 different portfolio managers and they spend tons of time figuring out the best performing FM and what next?
Nothing wrong in doing above. But all of the above are peripheral questions. They are not the CENTRE.
CENTRE is YOU. It’s not about your MONEY / Your FAMILY / Your FUTURE / Your Spouse / Your Kids / Your Generations. It’s about YOU and only YOU.
So, before spending a minute on all of the above – It will make immense SENSE to KNOW YOURSELF? Do you know what your CORE PERSONALITY is? How well do you know yourself?
You may be offered the best investment TIP by BUFFETT but does it match your personality?
In my 35 years journey – I have observed that people face a lot of struggle emotionally and mentally when the things are not matching their personalities.
Spiritual Interpretation: -
Nature has given unseen ATMA in our body – like Rs.1 ( insignificant amount). We have got this life and this WORLD with that. What are we doing with our life? Where is our focus? If we keep on doing what we have done so far ( whatever is your AGE) – what kind of future lives will we have? Do you think whatever you are doing is the RIGHT way to USE the precious gift called LIFE?
If you have done with Wealth / Woman / Name and Fame - this perspective is also important.
What NEXT?
This story is about us. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong. It’s about FINDING your PERSONAL DHARMA ( not your RELIGION) and ACT accordingly.
