Do you agree that one should marry a person whom she/he loves?

Namaste! We have shared a lot many good posts in July so far. Yesterday, we share the top 5 posts bouquet on Happiness and Success. Many readers who had time read the same and appreciated our efforts. Starting from Old Hindi Movies to the current generations – Falling in Love and getting married to a loved person has been really fascinating. In fact, most movies were made to show the struggle of loved ones in getting married to each other and some had so-called happy endings. Many times, those who could not find love and get married in traditional ways repent for their luck in love matters.

Early in my life, I was taught that the way you do anything – you will do everything. So, if you have done a love marriage or arranged marriage – your success as an investor will be reflected. Let us see why we fall in love?

Why do you get attracted to someone?

There is a simple rule – Opposite Attracts. Now, the simple meaning is Opposite Sex attracts. The deeper and real meaning in all our relationships/worships or almost anything we are attracted towards the other person who is having opposite qualities of we have. (look at all the people whom you admire – they must have some qualities which you don’t have). Say somebody is donating a big sum – all the KANJOOS of the world will appreciate this guy. They will praise him. Same way – somebody is BRAVE and a Fighter – all the non-fighter will take shelter under him. In a normal business also – you do business with somebody who is either your supplier or your customer. In short, we get attracted or connected to the person who is opposite of us in some way or the other.

What happens when you get married to such a person?

Let us say someone has fallen in love and he/she wants to marry his or her partner because of love. Looks perfectly logical and practical.

If you agree with the above – you are 100% mistaken.

The differences which attracted towards each other is good for some hour in a day or some days. But when you have to live with that person who is opposite of your nature 24X7 – 365 days – it becomes a pain and a severe pain. No doubt there is more break up in Love Marriages than the traditional marriages.

What was the OLD TRICK of the OLDIES?

My grandfather had given me some beautiful advice – “don’t get married to the person whom you love, but get married to the person with whom you can spend your life”.

This may look out of fashion or impractical. But this is the right choice baby when you go for Marriage or Long-term investments.

How the human mind works?

Once we get something – we get bored with that person or a thing easily. We want something new. This is the nature of the mind. This is applicable in Love also. When a girl or boy you propose to says – YES – she/he loses the appeal.

With such nature of our mind – if we have got married to the opposite-natured person – every day we will have to compromise for something or the other.

As such you are bored with that person and now you are forced to compromise also – how long you can tolerate such a relationship?

When you get married to the person with whom you don’t have to compromise more / when that person is more like you – you will find it easy to stay with that person. This was the reason that our oldies used to follow CASTE / RELIGIOUS and Family Background matching so that the couple has the least to compromise.

I am not a social expert. I am sharing this so that you may not make the same mistake while you invest. You are 1000% free to do whatever you think fits when it comes to your life/ marriage and investments. I am just sharing the Least Resistance Way towards success. Who BUFFETT uses this principle?

He is the smartest person when it comes to investing. He knows that long-term investments are always boring. So, he invests based on his CIRCLE OF COMPETENCE.

Circle of Competence is nothing but he invests what he understands. He is not bothered about MARKET FAD and Market RETURNS. He missed the IT rally in 1999. Rakesh did not invest in the Property shares from 2004-2007. People called them MAD or written off as successful stock investors.

The world doesn’t know about the person who made tons of money in 1999 or 2007. But these two guys are still on the top, known and respected for their acumen even today. 

Why Buffett's principle makes sense?

Say you are 25 age and you are going to live and work till 60-70 age. It means you are going to generate cash flow every year. You will need to invest the same in some or the other places. If you keep investing based on your circle of competence - you will be able to hold your investments for a longer period of time and you will not panic in the market fall.

If you keep on trading your money like Miss Universe – you will not reach anywhere. But if you follow Miss World – you will have a Name/Fame/Tons of money and good family life.
