How Buffett explains the process?

Buffett had shared a beautiful example of COIN FLIPPING in support of VALUE investing in 1984. At that time, the USA population was 268 million people. This is worth understanding for making tons of money.

"I would like you to imagine a national coin-flipping contest." Let's imagine all 268 million people in the United States are asked to wager one dollar on their ability to call the flip of a coin. "If they call correctly, they win a dollar from those who called wrong." After each flip, the losers drop out, and on the subsequent flip, the stakes multiply. Each person has a 50-50 chance of calling each flip and approximately half of the people will lose and drop out each round. After ten flips there would be approximately 260,000 people that had successfully called ten consecutive coin flips. After 20 flips, based purely on chance, there would be approximately 250 people that had called 20 consecutive coin flips - a seemingly miraculous feat.

These 250 people would have more than one million dollars for going right 20 times”

Buffett explains that the common link in the above 250 people is not luck or skill or technical analyses. Simply they followed the GRAHAM AND DODD Value investing principles and that is the reason that they made so much money.

Let me explain what Buffett has said above in simple language: -

1.  After the first round, there would be 134 million people with USD 1 each

2.  After 5^th round, there would be 8.375 million people with USD 16 each

3.  After 10^th round, there would be 2.61 lakh people with USD 512 each

4.  After 15^th round, there would be 8179 people with USD 16384 each

5.  After 20^th round, there would be 256 people with USD 1.04 million each

What Buffett is saying is that these 256 guys have a common link of wealth creation – they all have followed VALUE INVESTING.

It means if you are following any other method - MUTUAL FUNDS / SIP / Algorithm Trading / Derivatives / Jobbing or any other esoteric technique – you will not become BILLIONAIRE. If at all you have become by a stroke of luck – the wealth will not stay with you for a long time or for your generations.

Can We Link What BUFFETT says to 24 JAIN DEHRASAR?

When I first time went to JAIN DEHRASAR in Mt. ABU, I saw 24 Jain Tirthankaras idols in a single dehrasar, technically known as 24 Jinalaya. All were looking alike, and it was difficult for me to understand which is MAHAVIR and which is PARSVANATH? The guide explained to me that the trick is to see the symbol below the idol to recognize the name of the Tirthankara. He was right. Each idol has a different symbol below it.

But why all were looking ALIKE.

My spiritual master explained to me that when you reach to the level of KAIWAL GYAN/MOKSHA/NIRVANA/BUDDHA HOOD – your inner quality becomes the same. The idols were representing their INNER EXPERIENCE and since their INNER EXPERIENCE was the same – they all were made look alike.

Same way all the investors who have become the BILLIONAIRES they have followed only one path. The path of VALUE INVESTING.
