Percentage of Brain Use V/s. Success in Investments & Life

Greetings from Hitesh! Thanks to all for reading and appreciating our last article on commonman and conspiracies. Today I am going to deal with the Percentage of your brain usage V/s. your success in Investments in particular and Life in general.

Brain Usage:-

Various researchers are unanimously putting one simple fact that we human’s are using very limited percentage of our brain potential. Depending on the researcher, the use of brain is assumed to be in the range of 1% to 15% !! Rather than debating with them, I would go with the fact that we are using very limited % of our brain. Now, let us see a case of normal individual who is using say just 10% of his brain potential!!

What happens when just 10% is used?

1. The person misses the 90% of the potential…..he lives and dies the life of 10%....assuming he is living 100% !!

2. With 10% acting as 100%.....he can be panicked and elated easily. He is prone to manipulations. E.g. Nifty Future – NF( NSE Index Future in India) moved from 5952 on 8^th March went down to 5487 on  9^th April…..heavy put and short position was created…..media supported the bear….. normal investors sold their shares…..they were in utter panic….Media created a scenario of 1991….and just see market closed at 5907 on last Friday. 

During this period NF went down by 8% and came up by 8%.....16% move in 35 trading sessions only !! Do you think everything bad has become good now? Was it a conspiracy? Who bought the shares you sold? Why this kind of panic was created? There can be many such questions…..but no bookish answer!!

3. With the Market and Media becoming positive, our 10% guy will also become positive……He will come back…..he will buy  back all the shares at 5900 NF levels, he sold at 5500 NF levels…..only to sell again at that level.

4. Knowing this fact, Mr.Taleb had said “we humans, facing limits of knowledge, and things we do not observe, the unseen and the unknown, resolve the tension by squeezing life and the world into crisp commoditized ideas, reductive categories, specific vocabularies, and prepackaged narratives, which, on the occasion, has explosive consequences.”

How Destiny Management deals with the above?

We are also aware of the above fact. So, we take following steps.

1. Have strong emotional purpose – we ask WHY? for all your activities in Life and Investments. If your WHY is strong…..you will find out HOW or HOW will find you out. So, find out your WHY first.

2. Follow "CANI". “CANI” stands for Constant And Never-ending Improvement. This is the word coined by Mr.Anthony Robbins. Keep on challenging your brain and it will take you to the next levels.  

3. When situations can not be explained by normal management thinking, we take the help of Eastern Sciences like Yoga, Astrology & Vastu Shastra. Our research and experiments in last 15 years have shown us that it is more profound and logical then so called management approaches. You can hit the Nail!!

4. Rather than avoid taking RISK, we manage RISK. If you avoid RISK, you will avoid RETURN also!! You can manage your life risk with Life insurance, Health Risk with Health Insurance, Investment Risk with Derivatives and so on.  However, you can manage RISK only if you take action before it happens…..E.g. take life insurance when you are ALIVE and health insurance when you are HEALTHY.

My Personal Call:-

I would quote 69^th Sloka of Chapter 2 of Shrimad Bhaghwat Geeta.

“Ya nisha sarva bhutanam tasyam jagartim samyami

Tasyam jagarti bhutani sa nisha pashyatah muneh”

The literal meaning of the same is ….What is night for all beings, in it the controlled being is awake; when all beings are awake, that is night to the sage who sees.

Cricketer-turned-politician Mr.Imran Khan used to wear a T-Shirt with a TAG Line…“Big Guys Play at Night”. If you concentrate on obvious 10% for success in your life and investments…you will miss the darkness of 90% which has the real potential to uplift your life.
