Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam – Just one Lesson from Lord Krishna and your life will be Set

Namaste! We are approaching Lord Krishna’s Birthday next week. So, let us learn from his teachings today. I have been studying the Gita ji from last 12 years and I always find newer things from the same every time I revisit the same chapters. One such slok is talking about the YOGAH KARMSU KAUSHALAM. It simply means your excellence in doing your chosen work is YOG.

Let me share you a story of a BUTCHER and its DAGGER: -

If you have read the SHIV KHERA he was talking about a wood cutter who was cutting more trees than the average wood cutter and when asked about the secret – he said – I sharpen my AXE for ONE HOUR every day before I start Cutting the TREE. This is GOOD but not the best. If you have to sharpen your axe everyday consciously than you are not doing the best. You have no time to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

So, I am sharing a story of a BUTCHER who did not sharpen the DAGGER for 3 generations.

There was a Butcher in the King’s palace and he was supposed to cut the animals for King’s Kitchen. He had a name in the KINGDOM for his expertise and people used to know him. So, when a person from any other field had to learn the mastery in any subject – he was sent to this Butcher.

One time an MBA who had read SHIV KHERA went to meet him. He saw him and he was spell bound with his skills in cutting the animal. He asked the butcher – how many times you sharpen your DAGGER? Typical MBA type question.

The Butcher said – never. This DAGGER was used by my grandfather / my father and now I am using it. We have never sharpened the same. How come, the MBA asked?

Butcher said – when we cut the animal – we don’t allow our dagger to hit the bones. So, our edges are not affected. In fact, we cut it exactly where the two bones are joined. So, our dagger gets sharpened automatically while cutting only. So, we don’t need to sharpen the same.

Lord Krishan calls it YOGAH KARMSU KAUSHALAM.

Butcher had reached to the highest peak of his EXCELLENCE and he was enjoying the name/fame and money for doing the same.

Man’s Eternal Search: -

Man is in search of some MAGIC WAND / MAGIC LAMP of ALLAUDIN or some such thing which can end their everyday struggle to earn BREAD and BUTTER. The most people want something for nothing.

But Lord Krishna says – you can have all the luxury, peace of mind and name/fame – if you just reach to the excellence of your KARMA.

The path to the EXCELLENCE is simple but not EASY as many would love to believe and follow.

Excellence in any area is your CHOICE: -

If you are not trying consciously to be excellent in your area, you are unconsciously deciding to become run of the mill kind of businessman / employee or investor.

If you are not consciously taking a help of a right kind of people / consultant on your way to the excellence, you are unconsciously taking CHANCES with your money and your life.

Normal people follow a simple practice of not taking decision unless and until they are not forced to take one. They don’t want to take the responsibility of the failure, so they avoid taking decisions.

When a simple decisions to excel are not taken – how come one can expect to EXCEL in his or her field?

CORONA after effects: -

Crores of people have suffered in the last two years due to CORONA. But the people who were excellent in their areas have recovered smartly and people who are not ready to change are still struggling.

We are approaching KRISHNA’s BIRTHDAY. Just review your life in the long weekend now. Make new decisions and stick to it till you reach to the top in your area.
