Western Media has made Warren Buffett – “ORACLE of OMAHA”. What are the facts?

Namaste! Our post on Buffett was a super hit. It was the most liked post in the recent past. Some people have said he is ORACLE or he is an exception and what he has done can’t be done by us. I want to deal with this with facts today.

How many of you know about RAMAYAN and MAHABHARAT?

If you are born and brought up in India – you must be knowing something about them or many things about them. I am sure. Many would have seen the RAMAYAN and MAHABHARAT in early 1990 on TV also. Most people would have listened from KATHA KAAR without fail.

If you have listened to a leading KATHA KAAR – when RAVAN kidnapped Sita – RAM broke down emotionally. He was doing all the time SITE / SITE in search of her in the Jungle. Thanks to this – the listeners didn’t get the right picture of RAM. Katha Kaar made RAM a normal human being and a good lover. A listener also cried while listening and Katha Kaar got the impact!! He got a lot more money as a public influencer. Now, politicians will also approach him for getting VOTES from his listeners. So, tons of money for him.

What was the FACT?

RAM was on road. He did not have money or anything. What’s more, he was in Jungle. He used his COURAGE / LEADERSHIP Qualities / Vision and built up a TEAM to fight against the RAVAN. He won the war against all odds.  Those who have suffered the losses in the recent past due to CORONA – when they listened to RAMAYAN from this point of view- they get the power to bounce back. But if you bounce back – you will not go to KATHA KAAR. His business will get affected.

ARJUN: -

In Mahabharata – Arjun went to different kingdoms for support and he got married to their princess. If you listen to the normal KATHAA – you will get the impression that ARJUN was a womanizer. But he did the team building and skill developments during the VANVAAS period. He learned from INDRA and SHIV during those times. If you listened to this side of ARJUN – your valour and courage will get activated.

What has happened with Buffett?

Western Media has made him ORACLE – a person with divine powers. The financial industry and investment communities call him – EXCEPTION to the rule.

Had they agreed with BUFFETT – there will not be PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT THEORY / DIVERSIFICATION / CHURNING OF PORTFOLIO / MUTUAL FUNDS and another way to make money from normal people. All the brokerage houses/fund management houses/hedge fund guys or alternate funds guys will not be left with any business.

What was BUFFETT reply?

Buffett is alive to answer the questions or solve the misguided information spread in the media. He had shared a beautiful fact. Let us read that.

USA population was 268 million in 1984 and had just 250 millionaires. All had one common similarity.

Buffett had shared a beautiful example of COIN FLIPPING in 1984. At that time the USA population was 268 million people. This is worth understanding if you are brainwashed against BUFFETT principles.

"I would like you to imagine a national coin-flipping contest. Let's imagine all 268 million people in the United States are asked to wager one dollar on their ability to call the flip of a coin. "If they call correctly, they win a dollar from those who called wrong." After each flip, the losers drop out, and on the subsequent flip, the stakes multiply. Each person has a 50-50 chance of calling each flip and approximately half of the people will lose and drop out each round. After ten flips there would be approximately 260,000 people that had successfully called ten consecutive coin flips. After 20 flips, based purely on chance, there would be approximately 250 people that had called 20 consecutive coin flips - a seemingly miraculous feat. These 250 people would have more than one million dollars for going right 20 times”

Buffett explains that the common link in the above 250 people is not luck or skill or technical analyses. Simply they followed the GRAHAM AND DODD Value investing principles and that is the reason that they made so much money.

 

What is the ADVANTAGE to the BUFFETT follower?

99% of the people have their own ways or techniques which they are ready to die for. If you also follow them – you have to compete with 99% of the investing populations in your country. But if you follow BUFFETT – you will have to deal with just 1% of the investing population.

Your chances of winning will be very high if you have to compete with just 1% of the investors.
