Four Stages of Investors and the role of Guru in all of them

Dear Fellow Travellers,

Namaste! We all have celebrated the GURU Poornima day with gratitude towards our gurus. Google gives all the information needed to us nowadays but only a seasoned GURU will help you convert that into your own Knowledge. Knowledge comes only and only when information is converted into Experience. Under the GURU’s observation, we convert that information into Experience and Experience becomes the knowledge of our life.

Today we will see the 4 stages of Investors / Persons and their relationship with GURU. We will also see how they should play in the market.

Curious Investors: -

Way back in 1992, Harshad Mehta pooled a large number of CURIOUS investors to the market. They were novice / they did not know anything about the market / they did not have any skill sets. They just came to see what is happening in the market? They invested based on GREED to make fast money and lost their shirt.

Curiosity is the beginning of anything. This way we can relate Curiosity with BRHAMA – who starts life. The role of BRHAMA is to start life. Curiosity leads any person to the new field – be it investments or business or study or spiritual journey. It’s like you WAKE up from the sleep and start your day.

If you are in this stage – you have two options – get out of the market or go to the next level.

Student Investors: -

Student goes to school and gains knowledge. His focus is to gain maximum knowledge possible and get the best MARKS in the EXAM. These are goal-oriented investors. They gain the knowledge and they want their knowledge to convert into Money. Since they are on learning levels – major mistakes can happen and they may fail or pass depending on the EXAM QUESTIONS (Market situations).

This is a DREAM stage for investors. While studying STUDENTS have dreams to become CA/ MBA / Billionaire / ACTOR or Director. Investors DREAM about their returns based on their KNOWLEDGE and then they get happy or unhappy depending on the results.

This stage is a stage of VISHNU. Here you grow and take little experience while learning.

This is the 2^nd stage for CURIOUS investors. A child is curious till 2-3 years and now he is kept in KG to explore his curiosity in a methodical way.

Here the role of TEACHER/ COACH/ MENTOR is very important than the GURU.

Disciple Investors: -

This is the THIRD stage of the evolution of an investor or a person. He becomes so committed that he is ready to die for his GURU. He has crossed the 2^nd stage and has seen the futility of the knowledge. He wants to surrender now.

Surrender requires a GURU and not a TEACHER / MENTOR or COACH.

He leaves all the things to GURU and moves ahead on his path. That’s why this stage can be ascribed to MAHESH or SHUSHUPTI. Here the investor is SILENT and Guru’s command (market behaviour) is the main thing.

Investor in this stage makes tons of money without any GREED and FEAR. He has decided to surrender to the market and market tells him what to do and what not to do. He just follows the indication of the market.

In the management parlance, they call completion of 10000 hours. Investors who have completed 10000 hours in the market will make tons of money without any efforts. We call it 3 years at destiny management. 

Shishya is the most important milestone in anybody’s journey. There is a religion in INDIA based on word SHISHYA – SIKH. SIKH is nothing but the form of SHISHYA. One who is ready to become SHISHYA.

BHAKT: -

This is the 4^th STAGE in the evolution of an investor. The SHISHYA when he surrenders 100% becomes the BHAKT. This is a DEATH of SHISHYA. It is said GURU is the person who KILLS you. When your EGO dies – you become one with the EXISTENCE or MARKET. When you become one with the MARKET, you get what you want without you asking for anything. This is the highest level in the evolution of an investor.

This level can be compared with SAMADHI – the last stage as per the PATNAJALI YOGA system. Only BLISS and HAPPINESS remains.

For investors – whatever he gets is a profit!! I am sure very few will be able to understand this statement.

Buffett is in this level. Only he can say that if the market closes for 10 years after my investments – I am okay. This is nothing but SURRENDER to the market.

What NEXT?

Journey progresses with BRHAMA – VISHNU – MAHESH and ends when we see PARBRHAMA. It can also be said – WAKE UP – DREAM – SHUSHUPTI and SMADHI.
