3 major mistakes of KARNA in Mahabharata took his life. Learning for Small Investors in Equity Investments

Dear Fellow Travellers,

Greetings from Hitesh! Thanks for being my regular reader and regularly sending feedback to me. It gives me an idea for the new article. In continuation of our education series, today we are going to learn from KARNA.

Today I am going to share an untold story of KARNA before I deal with the Small Investors. So, here it goes.

How Karna Gained Knowledge?

Karna was a Sut Putra so Guru Drone refused to teach him. He went to Kripacharya. (Kripa was brother in law of Guru Drone and he only invited Guru Drone to Hastinapur. Kripa and Drone were pupils of Bhagwan Parshuram. It was said that Kripacharya was better than Drone).

Kripacharya promised to make him the best archer of India provided Karna gives him 1000 gold coins which Karna or his poor father was unable.

Kripacharya was not asking money for the sake of money, but he believed that everything has a price……and you will have to pay the same – sooner or later.

Not having money, Karna jumped in the river to commit suicide but was saved by Kripacharya. Kripa said – you give me whatever you can and I can show you a way to gain the knowledge in Archery free of cost!!

He explained Karna that Bhagwan Parshuram is the best teacher available at that time and he teaches free of cost – provided you are Brahmin. He will teach him the behavior of Brahmin and he can learn from Parshuram free of cost!!

Kripa also warned Karna, when I am asking money, you know how much you are paying, but remember in free training, you will end up paying the horrible price!!

Since Karna was determined to become an ARCHER, Kripa taught him the ways of Brahmin behavior at a small price and send him to Bhagwan Parsuram. On the last day of his study, Parshuram came to know that he was Sut Putra. So, he gave him a curse that you will forget all my knowledge when you need the most!! Rest you all know.

3 Mistakes of KARNA: -

1st Mistake: -
Going for FREE Education: -
Kripacharya was better than DHRON and he could have paid him and learned from him. He would have demanded some time to pay. He should have taken some efforts to earn before he could learn. But he was not interested in wasting time. He wanted to learn. He wanted to learn fast and that too FREE.

So, his love for FREE took him to PARSURAM.

How does this relate to Small Investors?

Karna could not pay because he or his father did not have money. The small investor comes to the market to invest their SPARE money……so they have money…. but they are not willing to pay what is due to their Consultant. They want it FREE!! Their love for FREE investment advise takes them to Business Channel Gurus and FREE tips guru and then what happens you know.

The funny aspect of the small investor – ask him to keep his child in GOVERNMENT SCHOOL – where they give free education – they are not ready to keep their kids to give them FREE education. They will send him to IB or IG board paying Rs. 1 to Rs.4 lakh per annum as FEES.

Their kids will start earning after 20 - 25 years and they are spending on fees today. But they are not ready to pay to the consultant who could help them manage their HARD-EARNED MONEY TODAY.

2nd Mistake: -

Karna LIED to GURU that he is a BRAHMIN. He acted as a BRAHMIN. But in the end, he got caught and he paid the price in terms of forgetting the knowledge when needed most.

Small investors lie to themselves. They tell themselves that they are long term investors – but actually, they have come to the market to make some fast money. Like Parsuram – Market catches them at the end and they losses all their capital. Their two-sided intentions are the cause of their failure.

3rd Mistake and this is the most SEVERE: -

Karna could not handle the knowledge. He knew he had the knowledge which will vanish when needed most. When he became the king with the help of DURYODHAN, he should have gone to KRIPACHARYA or any other GURU and learned the ARCHERY and other arts from the beginning. He had a CURSE – what he learned from PARSURAM will vanish, not from other GURUs.

How does this relate to Small Investors?

Many investors come to the market and lady luck supports them and they make a good profit in their initial trades of investments. Like KARNA they know that this money has come due to luck and not due to skill. They also know that LUCK does not last forever.

They feel that they know all. They don’t need coaching. They prefer not to go to any GURU for learning from the ABCD levels. End results – these guys give back his profit to the market along with his capital.

My Personal Call: -

The market is the smartest phenomenon you are dealing with when you invest. Smartest and most learned brains have failed to cheat the Market for a long period of time.

To be a successful investor – you need clarity of purpose and purity of your methods to achieve your purpose. You may become successful by hook or crook but, like KARNA, it will be a total waste in the end.

Appreciate the persons like Kripacharya – who would not provide you services till they get their price!! (Dhroncharya had hidden agenda to defeat King Drupada by teaching Kuru Princes – just see how he died!!). At destiny management, we follow Kripacharya Model. We just charge fees for our services. We have no hidden agenda!!
