You
can add many such questions or related questions.
Now,
let us look at the SUBJECT of today’s post. We have taken two companies.
1.
When I say COLGATE – you remember Toothpaste and Tooth BRUSHES. But when I say
HUL – you remember Lux , Surf Excel , Clinic Plus, Rin , Lifebuoy ,
Close up, Pond's, Pepsodent , Fair & Lovely , Dove , Sunsilk , Vim ,
Wheel , Vaseline ,Pears, Lakme
and many more such NAMES.
2.
Combined sales of COLGATE worldwide are USD 16 billion and combined sales of
HUL worldwide are USD 50 billion. Profits are USD 2.6 billion and approx USD 8
billion respectively.
3.
COLGATE is 210 years old company and HUL will complete 100 years in 2030.
4.
Not all the TOOTHPASTES BRANDS of COLGATE are Contributing to the sales and
profits of the company in a major way. Not all the BRANDS are contributing to
sales and profit of HUL in a MAJOR way!!
If
you think on the above TWO companies and their business models and their ways
of working – you will get a fair idea for answers of your above questions.
