Who Was Elder? – Mahavir or Buddha & Effects of Derivatives on Normal Investors.
Greetings from Hitesh! My Navratri Gift article has got the highest hit so far. It proves that people likes tips!! Thanks for your time in reading and forwarding.
I have just met a very scholarly person. He said to me that he has spent 30 years in researching on the above question. He also asked me the above question.
(For those who are unaware of the history – it is sufficed to know that both were born around same time. For many followers of the respective group, this may be a matter of importance to know who was elder)
This question reminded me of the normal investor and his questions.
1.   Will market go up or go down?
2.   What is good - trading or investment?
3.   Which is better – Technical Analysis or Fundamental Analysis?
How Derivative is Responsible for your Questions?
I have observed a unique custom in India. Normal Indians would worship their respective religious books. He will keep it in clean and pure place like home temple. Mostly they are tied in RED clothes.
For Normal Indian worshiping Religious Book is more important than understanding what is written in it. To understand what is written in it – he would rely on his religious pandit!! In that sense his understandings of his religious books is Derivative!! Very few would have taken a pain to read and understand the true meaning of their books!!
Credit Card Society:-
I often hear elderly person blaming their children for spending on credit card / taking personal loans for their da today expenses. The kids are taking just money on CREDIT – Elders are living life on CREDIT (all their ideas about life and religion are interpretation of their pandit)!!
That’s why they say – Trust in GOD but Lock your CAR!! (As good as saying – I have no trust in GOD!!)
Common Link between Religion and Investments:-
All religions of the world talk about one simple advice – “do unto others what you would have wanted them to do it with you”. So, question of which one is best does not arise at all.
Same way all successful investors world over follow one simple principle – “buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying!!”
If you look at both the principles – both are pure common sense. On Friday morning we had advised in our email to all of you to buy – just see after 2 p.m. market changed.
Your questions are responsible for your Focus:-
If you are spending time on above questions – you will develop a good logical faculty to prove something or other wise. When you win your point – your ego boosts up. But you will never make good money.
Most seasoned business investor client ask me one simple question – I have X amount to invest. How fast can you double it? Just see the focus on this question is not on market/method or man – it’s on doubling money.
