Amitabh Bacchan V/s Naryana Murthy

Greetings from Hitesh! Infosys fell by 7% in USA followed by a fall in Indian Market today. This triggered a thought process in my mind to compare the two stalwarts of India. Let us learn from them.

Similarities:-

1.   First has made Indian Film Industry Proud and the later has made India IT Industry Proud.

2.   Both had a humble beginning and they became the king in their respective industries.

3.   Both have huge fans in their respective industry.

Differences:-

While failure in Politics, Heavy losses in ABCL and Huge Debts forced Amitabh to come back to Industry and that too on TV, he maintained the uncompromising professional standard he had sat, when he was active as an ACTOR. Today also he has maintained his image and performance.

But let us look at NRN:-

After retiring from Infosys, NRN took a back door entry along with his son on the pretext of the restoring the performance of the company.

Since NRN rejoined….Infosys lost all his senior most executives. They simply left.

Ever since the year 2000, Infosys has regularly floored the market incomplete, half-baked and misleading information. So much so that, almost the entire founding team of the original 8 have quit the company and most directors have sold off their Equity in the open market through ADRs and sponsored ADRs.

Only last quarter, he spoke of the company being turned around.

To prove him wrong, yesterday Shibulal spoke something totally different. Not only was his profit warning given to a private audience it was made public post-market hours in India. Those who had to short the stock could do so in New York, and the result is already evident in the markets in India this morning. Such disclosures should have been made publicly and posted on the NSE/BSE sites but all corporate governance standards have been given the go-by.

My Personal Call:-

I have following point to make.

There is a very good proverb in Gujarati – Sathe Buddhi Nathi (At age 60, intelligence run away). Everybody can not be Mr.Bacchan, whether Mr.NRN accepts this or not, you stay away from Infosys.

Have a Great Day.
