Srimad Bhagvat Story about PITRU PAKSHA and your financial nirvana. 

 

Dear Fellow Travellers,

 

Aum Ptiru Devatabhyo Namah. We are in PITRU PAKSHA. This is the best period to show your gratitude to your forefathers and relatives who have left their bodies. It is said that you should read certain chapters of SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM for their benefits. Today I will deal with one such chapter and my learning from the same. 

 

Chapter 4-5 of BHAGWAT MAHATMAYA: - 

 

There is a story of ATMADEV Brahmin and his wife DHUNDHULI. They didn’t have kids. So ATMADEVE went to commit the suicide. He met a tapasvi over there. TAPASVI saw his destiny and told him that you will not have kids for the coming 7 births. But ATAMDEV told him that he will commit the suicide if his wish is not fulfilled. 

 

Tapasvi finally gave him a FRUIT and asked him to make it for his wife. He said she will have a Son after 9 months. Atmadev came home and told the story to his wife and asked her to eat the fruit. 

 

His wife was sceptical and didn’t eat that fruit. She gave that fruit to the COW. She acted as if she was pregnant and took her sister’s son after 9 months and told ATMADEV that she had delivered a boy. They kept the name of the boy as DHUNDHUKARI. A cow also delivered a boy. His name was kept as GOKARNA. 

 

Story is long. But in the end DHUNDHUKARI got into the wrong lines. ATMADEV and DHUNDHLI suffered tons of pain due to him. As told by TAPASVI – he didn’t have the happiness of having a kids. Ultimately, 5 WHORES, with whom DHUDHUKARI was staying, killed him after giving him a lot of pain. So, he also died a bad death.  

 

My learnings from the story: - 

 

 

1.  If you look at the prediction of the TAPASVI – he was not supposed to have the kids for 7 births. See the story he didn’t get the happiness of the kid. 

 

My learning: - Try hard for all the things you want in your life. If you are not getting the same – it means you are not destined to get the same. Don’t find out the SHORT CUTS. In current times couples are going for IVF and SURROGACY when they are not capable of having kids on their own. Some may adopt also. A study should be made with respect to the couple’s happiness in life after getting the kids in their life in such a way. 

 

My learning for FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: - 

 

1.  There is a TREND in the middle class and lower middle class to enjoy the life king-size and make a show off without having an income to support the same. They resort to shortcuts of the LOANS of all types. When the EMI starts coming – they go mad. But now, they can’t do anything. 

 

2.  Rich people take loans for business and investment purposes. Middle class takes loans for consumption. 

 

 

The question my MBA reader will ask – If we don’t have money / kids or any other things – should we not find out the ways to get them? 

 

My understanding, my experience and my observations of around 10000 middle class and upper middle class people in the last 35 years says – you have all the rights to go for your DREAMS and DESIRES. You should work with full honesty to get them. After doing the same – if you are not getting – then you must accept that you are not meant to get those things. ( this will hurt your EGO. But let your EGO get hurt or your life will become a walk on fire). 

 

EGOISTIC people will go for SHORT CUTS. They may get the status of having something instantly with loans – but each day they will die when they can’t pay the EMI. They will have sleepless nights when the EMIs are due and payable. Many will borrow money from friends and relatives and lie to them. Stop picking up their calls.
