4 kinds of BHAKTA and the real bhakta as per GEETA Chapter 7 Verse 16/17.
Dear Fellow Travelers,
Namaskar! We are in PITRU PAKSHA and it is recommended that one should study the CHAPTER 7 of GEETA JI during this time. Yesterday we had seen the right kind of prayers towards the GOD. Today we will see the persons who are doing the prayers. As per GEETA there are 4 kinds of BHAKTA who are doing prayers of the GOD. But Krishna says – only one of them is his favourite.
Let us see the 16/17 verse from chapter 7.
"चतुर्विधा भजन्ते मां जना: सु
"तेषां ज्ञानी नित्ययुक्त एकभक्
The Verse says there are 4 kinds of BHAKTA.
1. Ārtāḥ (The Distressed):
Those who are suffering from distress and seek divine intervention to alleviate their crises.
2. Jijñāsuḥ (The Inquisitive):
Individuals who are curious about the nature of God and spiritual knowledge, and they approach the Lord to gain understanding. These knowledge is like GOOGLE knowledge. No CHANGE in the life pattern after knowing.
3. Arthārthī (The Seeker of Material Gain):
People who desire material prosperity, wealth, and other worldly possessions, and they worship the Lord with the hope of fulfilling these desires.
4. Jnānī (The Wise):
Those who have come to understand the Absolute truth and recognize their own nature as a part of the Supreme Lord. They worship God out of a deep, profound spiritual knowledge. ( like PRAHALAD and BALI)
Out of the above Krishna says ( in verse 17) :-
He states that the wise devotee, constantly engaged in exclusive devotion (ekabhakti) to the Lord, is considered the best among all devotees because he is supremely dear to God, and God is supremely dear to him. This wise devotee understands the Absolute Truth and is free from material desires, which elevates them to a position of deep and exclusive love for the divine.
Key aspects of this verse:-
· The Wise (Gyaani):-
This refers to a person who has advanced in spiritual knowledge and understands the true nature of the Self and the Absolute Truth.
· Constantly Engaged (Nityayukta):-
The wise devotee is not intermittently devoted but is always fixed in their concentration and connection with the Lord.
· Exclusive Devotion (Ekabhakti):-
Their devotion is singular, not divided or mixed with other desires or allegiances. He is not going to other GODS who can fulfil his DESIRES.
· The Best:-
Among all types of seekers (the distressed, the inquisitive, the seeker of wealth, and the wise), the wise devotee stands out as the most elevated.
· Mutual Love:-
The verse emphasizes a profound, reciprocal relationship where God is very dear to the wise devotee, and the wise devotee is equally dear to God.
Simple explanation: -
Above is self-explanatory. First three kinds are doing TRADING with the GOD. They want something and that’s why they are praying. They go to various other GODS also who can fulfil their desires.
It is said there are 33 KOTI GODS in India. Koti means Type also and Koti means Crores also. I don’t know which one is the right meaning in the above. But if you consider there are 33 types or 33 crores – they both are talking about more than 1 GOD.
The wise one worships the GOD out of LOVE and not out of DESIRE. Love is the major word. Keep that in mind when you pray next time.
How to apply in investments?
In last 35 years of my journey as investor I have met tons of investors and they all want to make tons of money. When I ask where they are investing they would tell me they have some money in Mutual Funds / Some in Shares / Some in Bullion and some in Property.
When you go one step further – they will have 50-300 stocks in their portfolio of Rs.5 lakhs to Rs.5 Crores. Same thing will be seen in the other asset classes. They just can’t do EKABHAKTI as KRISHNA says.
When I look at the portfolio of RAKESH – he has 30 odd companies in the portfolio of Rs.62000 CRS !!
These investors are BUSY whole day / whole life thanks to the above spread of their portfolio but they are not PRODUCTIVE when it comes to WEALTH CREATIONS.
Buffett explains the above beautifully whey he says – if you make one woman pregnant and have patience then you can have a kid in 9 months. But if you make 9 women pregnant – you can’t have kids in a Month.
