Three Levels of Intelligence and Investment Performance. What is your level?

Dear Fellow Travelers,

Namaste! We appreciate the responses to our last post on the movie Drishyam-2. It was a super hit. People like the message we were trying to share through the movie. However, the common observation is that people do not understand what is being communicated. They come out with some out-of-the-blue conclusion from the same post or information shared with them.

This happens due to the levels of intelligence one is blessed with. Today I am sharing 3 levels of intelligence that normal people operate with. Let me deal with each of them.

1.   KU-BUDDHI: - Let me share some of the examples and you will understand the meaning yourself.

a.   A husband doesn’t know how to prepare a TEA giving advice and tips to wife on how to cook a delicious meal for him.

b.   A well-wisher who gives tons of advice to his friend in the hospital about how to take care of post bypass surgery.

c.    A media analyst who has never invested his money starts giving tips about how to become a millionaire?

d.   A pandit who has by heart all the shastra assumes that he knows the GOD.

e.   A person who has never taken any leadership role in family starts giving advice to MODI Ji on how to run the country.

The common link in all the above example is all the persons appears to be well informed, knowledgeable and educated. They may be well-respected thanks to the information they share with people around them. But there so-called information (or knowledge as they like to call it) – is not supported by the experiences in the respective field. There is very little difference between them and GOOGLE information.

Thanks to our education system – we are producing these kinds of people in tons and tons. All are MBAs – Mane Badhu Aavde che (I know all kind of people). They are not ready to learn from the other person.

The common complaint of all the people is that people don’t give enough money/respect when compared with their knowledge and skillsets. These kinds of people remain in middle class or poor and die as middle class or poor. They blame the government/system for their situations. They are always eager to change the other people without changing themselves. These people are known as MUDH in SHASTRA. A Mudh is not a fool but an Idiot.

2.   A-BUDDHI: -

As the name indicate this person is Fool. He doesn’t know and he doesn’t claim that he knows. These kinds of people will say – “No” when asked about the subject they don’t know or they have no exposure to.

They are easy to deal with when compared to the above category of people. If we see Ku-Buddhi as MINUS then A-Buddhi is a Zero level. Personal Progress can be fast with this kind of people.

In fact, in GITA – chapter 2 slok number 7 – Arjun tells the lord Krishna – “I am your disciple please tell me what is the best for me to do?”

Having this attitude made ARJUN winner in the Mahabharat War.

This is the best attitude for fast progress in life and investments when you have no experience.

In practice, to say - I don’t know – is the most difficult dialogue. It requires a lot of honesty within a person and a feeling of surrender towards the person whom he is asking.

If this kind of people get the right MENTOR or GURU – their progress becomes the fast in life and investments.

3.   Su-Buddhi: -

This is the best situation for a person to be in. Here the person has intelligence, experience, and wisdom to apply the knowledge in different situations. He remains calm and cool in difficult or challenging situations. He has seen the ups and downs in life and market and whatever he says comes out of his own explorations and experiences.

This kind of people is very less. You will find them mostly wealthy in whatever field they are. The unique quality of these kinds of people is that they are humble and ready to learn in spite of knowing all in the respective field. They are always patient listeners. These people are intelligent people in the real sense.

How to apply this in life and investments?

Find out the area or direction in which you want to take your life. Say you want to make tons of money in your business or investments or your job or your art.

Having decided the area – ask where do you stand in terms of the above 3 levels of intelligence in the field you want to go ahead with?

  1. If you are in Ku-Buddhi – start exploring your information under the guidance of Su-Buddhi person.
  2. If you are A-Buddhi – find out a mentor or Guru and learn from him.
  3. If you are Su-Buddhi – you will be successful already.

If you follow the above steps – I assure you a very successful life ahead.
