“Do you Recommend SELF HELP / SELF DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS?”

Wish you a GREAT Saturday Morning. Thanks a ton for your responses to my last post on FINANCIAL FREEDOM. Many have promised to come back to me with the DATA SHEET. Let us see how many does the homework?

On a recent interaction with a Gentleman – he was sharing his experiences with me.

“I have attended many SELF HELP/DEVELOPMENT/SALES and BUSINESS Seminars. But I still go back to my old behaviours. Why change is not PERMANENT? Do you Recommend SELF HELP / SELF DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS?”

Many have these concerns and let me deal with this subject. Let us see how the PITCHING of these seminars starts.

Do you want to convert your DREAMS into REALITY? Do you want to buy a BIGGER CAR / BIGGER HOUSE? Do you want to marry the most beautiful GIRL of your CHOICE? Do you want to increase your SALES by 200% to 500%? Do you want to GROW your business to the NATIONAL LEVELS / International Levels? Do you want to TRAVEL around the WORLD?

If you read them or hear them – what would be your response? Naturally – YES.

All these SEMINARS are targeted to your EGO. They know that you operate only from EGO and this is the EASIEST way to ENROL you into their SYSTEM or SEMINAR.

How NORMAL GUY BEHAVES?

Assume that he has nothing to start with. He goes to the Seminar to develop his personality. He makes little money out of it. Then he goes to SALES seminar. He makes more money this time. Then he goes to BUSINESS Development Seminar and he makes even more money.

Now, the modern day BABA comes – he talks about MENTAL PEACE and EMOTIONAL BALANCE. He goes to him. Then he goes to MEDITATION and Spiritual Retreats. This way the CIRCLE keeps on going.

If you really understand the above GAME – you keep on CHANGING / you keep on making more and more money / accumulating more and more wealth but you are THE SAME. There is no IMPROVEMENT!!

When you didn’t have money – you went to one kind of seminar and now you have money – you are going to another kind of seminar. Say you were eating roadside WADA PAV previously now you are eating in JW Marriott. This is a CHANGE and not IMPROVEMENT. In fact, your digestion power would have reduced by this time!! 

You can see the CHANGES in your life by attending them – but you can’t be IMPROVED!! Most guys do not understand the difference between CHANGE and IMPROVEMENT.

It’s like changing the COVERS / WALLPAPERS of your MOBILE PHONE or installing some new applications every time they come. Your mobile can look better with them or perform better with them but it is the SAME MOBILE. You can’t IMPROVE it. That’s why APPLE keeps on adding one new model each year!!

What you were doing with your MOBILE was CHANGE and what apple is doing with the mobile is IMPROVEMENT!! Understood?

Let us understand the ROLE of your Ego:-

You always want to become somebody else. You think – you will be happiest by becoming that guy. But when you reach to that state – you realize – some other guy is happier than you. Now, you start your journey towards him.

As long as you are MOTIVATED by your EGO – your changes will not LAST LONG!! If you have changed once – you can change for second time / third time and N number of time also. It means – you will not have lasting CHANGE.

Another FACT is – you yourself are not going to be permanent. How come your CHANGE can LAST PERMANENTLY?

EGO makes you FUTURISTIC. Growth Oriented. Calculative. Cleaver. Cunning. Each of this deal with the FUTURE and NOBODY has control over FUTURE!!

When can you see the MOMENT of TRANFORMATION in you?

When you see the game of your EGO – you will immediately realize the uselessness of your so-called developmental efforts. You will laugh at yourself. In the moment of your laugh – you will transcend this game and transformation will happen HERE and NOW.

This transformation deals with PRESENT and when you are in the PRESENT – IMPROVEMENT happens automatically. You can’t improve. 6S will automatically become 7. It just has to wait!!

Patience is the KEY to your IMPROVEMENT. Look at SHABARI in RAMAYANA. By just waiting she GOT RAM!!

Improvement comes by just being. Change comes from doing. Understand this subtle difference.
