4 Dimensions of an investor. Your investment success depends on your dimension.

Dear Fellow Investors,

Namaste! Our last post was on WHAT DO YOU FOCUS ON? I received a lot of responses talking about the reasons for the focus. Many said – different people focus on different things in different situations and different times. This argument is logical. But that is part of the story. Today we will deal with the same in our style. 

We will discuss the 4 dimensions of an investor. Once you understand the same – you will get to know the reasons for your focus on something. 

Body Investors: - 

This investor has money. He comes to the market to make more money. He asks for sure shot investment ideas. He doesn’t want to know how the market behaves / how the company runs their business / how the economy is doing. All he wants – tell me where to invest so I can double my money? 

Curtis Faith of TURTLE TRADER FAME had once said  

 

“In investing and trading, the vast market consists of amateurs….

 

1.   Who are looking for magical answers to make lots of money quickly and with little risk. 

2.   They want specific ideas. 

3.   They want to be told exactly what to do. 

If the things don’t work out as per what was said – they have an easy way out to blame the person who guided him. 

He dies poor or middle class for sure.

Body + Mind investors: - 

They also have a mind. When they have a mind – naturally – they have the EGO / GREED and FEAR. He will use his mind subjectively rather than objectively. 

He will look for short term fast gains compared to long term losses. Look at UDDHAV THACKERAY. He ditched the BJP to become the CM. He lost all the goodwill his father created by fighting for HINDUS. 

See him now ( only in 6 years ) – he lost die hard supporters of Hindutva to his partyman Eknath Shinde. His party got splitted. He lost his CM chair long back. Now he lost the BMC election also. 

Normal investors also apply the mind like Mr. Thackeray. 

Body + Mind investors remain busy calculating their Monthly / Quarterly /  Annual returns / comparing with BENCHMARK and becoming happy or unhappy. They just can’t focus on WEALTH CREATION.

He dies as Upper Middle Class or RICH.  

Body + Mind + Heart:- 

This person has a heart also. He is sensitive to the current environment and also puts his heart into the same. 

When Mukesh bhai announced his GREEN ENERGY PLANS in 2022 – he said it will be ready in 2030. 9 years just to start the plant. How many years will it need to PAY BACK the investments after it starts the operations? We don’t know. But he has his HEART on that project. 

The point is – if your heart is not into the investments you are doing – you will not be ready to wait for 10 years and more. 

I had a privilege to talk with a billionaire investor last year and he discussed with me an investment idea which had a minimum period of 10 years with NO GUARANTEE of the RETURN. In a split second I said – I am ready. He asked again – are you really ready to wait for 10 years? I said - Yes. 

I know one thing for sure – major money comes in life – if you allow your investments to mature for 10 years or more. 

Heart decides your commitment towards your investments. When you don’t have HEART in your investments – you can’t keep patience. Market rewards massively when you have PATIENCE.

In today’s time there is an increase in divorce rate like anything. The main reason is the couple is focusing on BODY and MIND only. 

He dies as the World's Richest person. 

Body + Mind + Heart + Soul: - 

This is the rarest variety of investors to find. Have you seen RAKESH having MARKET SET UP in the ICU? I am sure many would have seen that in social media clips. 

He had crossed Body / Mind and Heart limitations. His soul was MARKET. He had tons of body issues but his soul was looking at the screen through his eyes. 

This is beyond commitment. Commitment has a body and mind support. Soul goes beyond them. 

Soul in investment will come only and only when you have put your HEART first. 

So, add heart to your investments as much as you can. Soul will follow. 

He dies as a LEGEND. 

What NEXT? 

Depending on your dimensions – you will FOCUS on SHORT TERM PROFIT / BUSINESS POTENTIAL and WEALTH CREATIONS. 

If you want to die as a WEALTHY or LEGEND  then change your dimension and your focus will change. When your focus changes - your results will change.
