De De Pyaar De 2 – Learn Sure Shot Success Formula with Romance and Comedy.

Namaste! Being an investor 24X7X365 days is my passion. Market remains open for 5 days a week but real investors are always in search of investment ideas and investment learnings. Learnings can come from various sources. Today we are sharing our learning from the movie – De De Pyaar De 2.

The movie is about FATHER – DAUGHTER and his FATHER Aged Lover. Daughter wants to marry this person and she wants her family to support her in her (mis)adventure. 

Let us see PAST – PRESENT and FUTURE of the investments from the characters. 

ASHISH: - 

This is indicating the PAST. He is a shrewd investor himself. He is investing in the start-up kind of investments. So, he must be a very smart guy. Now, this guy has fallen for the GIRL – HALF of his age. Smartness gone for a toss. 

He has been forced to do all the mistakes again and where he fails as he can’t get the force for repeating the mistakes. He realizes that he has done OVER TRADING ( mentally and physically) by getting into the relationship with this girl. 

He gets tons of tension / heartburn and heartbreak due to this girl. When he sees the girl is going near the boy of her age – as a MATURED person he walks out of the relationship rather than fighting for the same.

Ashish – realised that he has a taken a position which he can’t handle so he puts the stop loss and moves out. 

Investment Lesson: - 

First don’t over-trade which is beyond your capacity to handle. If at all you do – follow the stop loss. But in this case also the mind will force you to do REVENGE trading. Most investors and traders go for REVENGE trading after facing losses. ASHISH was not able to forget AYESHA and he told his friend that he feels like CRYING. 

His FRIEND made him realise that you need to be a fighter. So, he gets ready to fight. So, this is PAST COMING to PRESENT. 

RAJJI KHURANA: - 

The most often repeated sentence of this guy is – “We are Educated / Progressive and Modern Family.” 

The behaviour is 100% opposite. He is an old school guy with a traditional controlling mind. Incidentally, he is shown as a top government officer in commanding positions. The movie is a big satire on so-called MODERN appearing outsider but  DESHI to the core inside. 

He uses his wife to do the dirty things in the family and he looks good on the face to his kids. ( that’s why his wife ditched him in the end). 

He represents the FUTURE in this movie. All his concern is about the future of AYESHA with ASHISH. 

He finds a young / handsome and talented guy for his daughter and asks him to make AYESHA fall in love with him. 

Some investors are basically future oriented. They want to make FUTURE CERTAIN ( e.g. a guy taking care of daughter for coming 30-40 years). 

Now, the future can’t be certain.

Investment Lesson: -

Don’t be hypocrite when you are investing. Know yourself and your thought process and likely results as per both of them.

Align your investments as per your NATURE and not as per the MARKET!! Market is always volatile but when you have aligned your investments with your nature – you can have mental peace. 

AYESHA: - 

She was impressed by ASHISH’s behaviour to remove her from BATH TUB in a drunken state and keep her in the guest bed room without doing anything to her.

She finally fell in love. She went through all the troubles of falling in love with a person twice her age when they went to convince the boy side family in the first part. 

Now, she is taking the boy to her family for marriage consent. Knowing her father – she chooses the time of happy events in the family and reveals her story to the parents. 

AYESHA is focusing on the PRESENT in the movie. When she finds that her lover is in the PAST and FATHER is in FUTURE – she makes a game to bring both of them to the PRESENT. Both the LOVER and FATHER got transformed and come to the PRESENT moment in the movie.

Investment Lesson: - 

She is the smart investor of the market. She knows herself / she knows what she wants and she has the guts to go against the world to get what she wants. 

Normal investors don’t have clarity for their expected results. They compare the returns of their neighbours and friends and they expect the unexpected. ( she was not comparing ASHISH age wise with anybody). 

Those who have clarity – they lack the GUTS and INTELLIGENCE to follow the steps towards their goals. ( she said – I am risking my life. If at all suffering will come – I am ready to suffer). How many can say like this with respect to their goals and dreams? 

Normal people remain normal because they don’t have the above two qualities in spite of they being EDUCATED / PROGRESSIVE and MODERN. 

The JACKPOT of the AYESHA: - 

AYESH was not aware about ASHISH’s financial background  before she fell in love. When she fell in love – ASHISH bought a MANSION for both of them worth crores. She will inherit the same and tons of money after ASHISH. 

DO YOUR KARMA (investments) – EXISTENCE ( market) will reward you for sure. 

What is the EXPERIENCE of BUFFETT and RAKESH kind of investors? 

When they invest – they study the past – present of the company very well. If they like the idea – they just invest. They go on investing more and more as the time passes and the company comes with the quarterly and annual results. 

They are so much focused on the PRESENT that they end up hitting the jackpot in future beyond their expectations in some of the cases. RAKESH had 33 odd companies and 4 companies made him THE RAKESH. The same way BUFFETT had 215 companies. 12 odd companies made him the BUFFETT.
