How My Love for MITHAI was converted to Love for MONEY by my MATERNAL UNCLE?

 

Dear Fellow Travellers,

 

Namaste! We are in the Diwali season and everybody will be after a Variety of Sweets – eating – gifting and sharing. Today I remembered an incident in my life when I was a kid. The learning is - How right kind of questions lead focus on right things in life? 

 

My Story as a KID: - 

 

As a Kid it was usual to go to my maternal uncle's place during the DIWALI Vacation. They were staying in Mumbai. So, while going back to my home town – our usual shopping was MOHANLALA HALWA for ourselves and our near and dear. I love sweets and I want more and more sweets. 

 

Knowing my love for SWEETS – I shared my brilliant idea to my MAMA – If I get married to girls in the MOHANLAL HALWA WALA family – I can have sweets for free for life. 

He looked at me and asked me who much does the 1kg HALWA cost? I reply 180/- per kg. ( 35 years back price). 

 

He asked another question – so if you have 180/- in your pocket – you can enjoy 1kg halwa right? 

 

I said – yes. 

 

He said – simple - earn Rs.180/-, have sweets of your choice and marry the girl whom you like? 

 

The lesson made me focus on the end things in life. Since then, I have changed my love from Mithai to Money. 

How do normal people think and they are taken for a ride? 

 

1.  I will invest in so and so company or Gold or Silver and make X amount of money. 

2.  I will do so and so job and earn X amount as a salary and live my life.

3.  I will do so and so business and earn X amount of money. 

4.  If I get a promotion – I will get extra so and so money as a salary. 

 

These thoughts lead to Self-Created Struggle, Frustration when they don’t get their anticipated Returns, Job or Promotion. 

 

Thanks to my maternal uncle and my business coaches – I have been advised to focus on the MONEY first. 

 

What happens when you focus on MONEY FIRST? 

 

Say somebody says I want a job so I can support myself and my family. This is a 100% wrong idea. Instead, ask  - how much money do you need each month to support yourself and your family? 

 

Say answer is Rs.1 lakh per month. 

 

Now, ask another question – How can you earn Rs.1 lakh honestly, legally and ethically from using your skill sets and investing your time ? 

 

You will get N number of options that may include Job/ Investments and business. When you explore those options with 100% open mind – you will have tons of ways to make money for sure. Apply them and see the results yourself. 

 

When somebody focuses only on JOB – and he is not getting those jobs ( that is the new reality in the current time and with AI – it will increase only) – he will say I can’t earn and sit at home wasting time and spoiling the mind. 

 

On the other hand when the focus is on money – you will try another 10 ideas and you will be productively busy and have a great self-esteem and tons of money at the end of the month. 

 

The problem with NORMAL MIND is they are not ready to focus on the right thing which can solve their fundamental problems of earning tons of Money. 

 

How to create personal pressures for your own success? 

 

When somebody commits to earn Rs.1 lakh in a month – he has created a personal pressure on himself. Now, he will be forced to look at all the options to earn that amount. If he fails – he will have to blame himself. Nobody likes to blame himself. So, he will find out ways to earn money. 

 

If you have focused on Market / JOB  or Government to make your money – it may happen that you may not earn your target amount and you will blame market / job market or Trump for your failures. As long as you BLAME others for your FAILURES – you will end up as the BIGGEST LOSER in your life. You will be full of frustration. 

 

It’s Your Life. Your Goals. Your Desires. So, keep your mind open and focus on MONEY MAKING IDEAS. 

 

20 ideas methods: - 

 

One of my coaches taught me the 20 ideas method early in my life. He said when you get up in the morning – write down 20 ideas for the day from which you can make money- legally- honestly and ethically?

 

This was very cumbersome in the initial days. But I picked it up after practice and since then it has gone into my blood. I don’t apply that technique nowadays. My mind automatically smells of money making opportunities. 

 

Try this and share your experiences after 3-6 months. 

 

How do google map guides?

 

Say you want to go from CITY A to CITY B. Google map will show you options with the timeline. You can choose the options depending on the timeline. But it may happen that you may find unexpected traffic or accidents on the option you have chosen. So, will you stop going to CITY B? No. Now, you will explore other options. 

 

Same way you need MONEY to fulfil all your needs and wants. Your JOB / your business or your investments are the way to earn that money.

 

So, keep your DESTINATION of  MONEY FIXED and be flexible with the ways to earn money. 

 

Those who say – I can’t do this / I can’t do that – they are blaming others and end up failures in life in spite of having the best of the skill sets and qualifications. 

 

What BRUCE LEE taught me? 

 

He gave me the ultimate advice of my life. I follow the same every day of my life.

 

“Empty your mind. Be formless. Shapeless. Like water. 

You put water into the Cups – it becomes the Cup. 

You put water into the Bottle – it becomes the Bottle. 

You put it into a TEAPOT – it becomes the Teapot. 

Water can Flow or it can Crash. Be water my friend.” 

 

The first line in the above is very important – “EMPTY your MIND”.

 

Most normal people fail over there only. Their mind is filled with a lot of notions of what to do or not to do.

They forget - LIFE GIVES us an OPPORTUNITY to LIVE the best way we can and not the PROMISE to LIVE the best way we want.
