Amazing similarities between ARJUN and Small Investors.

 

Dear Investors,

 

Namaste! It is said – “Description creates perception and perception creates the behaviour”. Modi ji used the description of  ACCHE DIN in 2014 / SABKA SAATH SABKA VIKAS in 2019 and came to power with the majority. Description or story telling in simple words are very powerful tools in the hands of the top people. Let us take an example of GEETA Ji. 

 

Listening to the dialogues between Arjun and Lord Krishna – the perception is created that Arjun was the HERO of the MAHABHARAT War. 99% of the people who have listened to / about GEETA or MAHABHARAT – they are under the impression that the ARJUN was the HERO. Realities are always different from perception. 

 

ARJUN: - the name comes from the root word RIJU. RIJU means STRAIGHT FORWARD. ARJUN is made of A-RIJU. It means the person is not STRAIGHT FORWARD. 

 

The proof – at the last moment of the war – he said – I will not fight the war!! I don’t want to kill my brothers and relatives. He started asking tons of intelligent questions to Lord Krishna. 

 

Do you think the person who is straightforward will ask questions when the war is about to start? Deep down he was not interested in fighting the war.

 

So, he asked questions and Krishna answered him. Apparently convinced by the Krishna in the 18^th chapter - 70^thSLOK of GEETA – “my Delusions are DESTROYED / I have gained my MEMORY/ I am FIRM Now / My Doubts are GONE / I will do AS PER YOUR WORD”

 

We all believe that he would have killed all as per his promise. Let us see the FACTS.

 

Let us look at the FACTS of MAHABHARAT WAR:-

 

There were 100 KAURVA BROTHERS / Guru DRONA / BHISMA / SHAKUNI / KARNA / JAYADRATHA and many more who were not relatives of the ARJUN in the opposite group when the WAR STARTED. 

 

Look at his performance in MAHABHARAT after this PROMISE:- 

 

1.   All KAURVA Brothers were killed by Bhima!!

2.   Guru DHRON was killed by DHRISTADYUMNA.

3.   BHISHMA was killed by SHIKHANDI

4.   KARNA & JAYADRATHA were killed by ARJUN too with a lot of HELP of KRISHNA. Until he killed KARNA – he was unaware of the fact that KARNA was the ELDEST BROTHER. 

 

If you look at the above list – the major work was done by BHIMA!! In spite of listening to GEETA – ARJUN did not KILL his RELATIVES!! 

 

Another incidence: - 

 

After the Mahabharata war – Arjun was instructed to bring 16000 wives and other women in DWARKA to SAFE place. While coming he couldn’t protect them and all had died. 

 

The above two incidents where he was most needed proves that he was not HERO as it is understood. 

 

Let us NOW See behaviours of NORMAL investors:- 

 

In the last 35 years – I have had an opportunity to work very closely with at least 10000 individual investors and understand their thought process and actions.

 

When I meet them for the first time – they tell me they are long term investors. They study before investing. They ask a lot of intelligent questions. Thanks to social media and the internet – they follow tons of ONLINE EXPERTS of the WORLD.  They are aware of what various BROKERAGES are recommending. They make me feel that they are very KNOWLEDGEABLE people when it comes to Investments. 

 

When I start working with them I get a different experience. 

 

1.  I ask them to work with me for at least 3 years. They will say they will work for a lifetime!! In reality, many will find it difficult to keep the discipline which we asked to follow. They will get out by the end of the year.  

2.  I ask them to invest for a one year holding period. They will buy and sell when the shares move up Rs.10 intraday and 10% in 3 to 6 months. 

3.  If the price moves up substantially and I ask them how much they have bought – they will say – 10 shares to 100 shares!! Now, they were asked to buy in tons at the time of giving them the recommendations. 

4.  If you ask them– why they asked so many questions  / did so much study / spend so much time – their reply could be – “Just for KNOWLEDGE”  / “I was passing time” / “I must know where I am investing my Money”.

5.  If I ask them not to do FUTURES and OPTIONS – he will promise not to do and when he gets stuck in some big position in F&O – he will call me – what to do now? I had taken just one position. When I am reminded that I had not asked to trade in F&O – he will say I took one position as per his broker’s call!! 

6.  My 35 years experience with them says – there is a difference between what they say and what they do in reality. 

 

What happens when you act like ARJUN? 

 

The most blamed person in MAHABHARATA was YUDHISTHIR as he played the GAMBLE and lost his brothers and wife in the game. But he had one quality which made him the KING. He did what he SAID!! 

 

Bhima was the next important guy in PANDAV MANAGEMENT after the WIN. BHIM always believed in DOING. His way of gaining KNOWLEDGE was from DOING.

 

In fact, if you go by the GEETA Chapter 1 – sloka 8 – DURYODHAN said that PANDAV group is MARSHALLED by BHIMA. So, the opposite camp also knew who is the real HERO in the PANDAV group. Just see DURYODHAN was proved 100% right in his reading about BHIMA as he alone killed all the KAURAVAS. 

 

Arjun may get the limelight thanks to dialogue with KRISHNA but at the ground level – his performance was not supportive of the footage he got in Mahabharata.
