Free Will – Freedom V/s. Astrology, Vastu and Occult Sciences.

Dear Fellow Travelers,

Namaste! Readers have responded with big thanks for eye opening post on GQG partners last week. I thank all my readers for their patience and time in reading my post. N number of times I come across well-educated clients. Many of them are MBAs / CAs / IIM and IIT graduates and PHDs. They have a strong belief that they have a FREE WILL and FREEDOM and there is no need to follow the science of astrology.

If I look at the larger population of India – I come across two distinct beliefs.

1.   We are the PUPPETS in the hand of GOD. We will move as per the movements of his hand’s fingers. These people are largely followers of LUCK and FIXED DESTINY kinds of belief.

2.   The educated one talks about FREE WILL and FREEDOM. They assume they are 100% independent to do whatever they wanted to do. Thanks to economic developments – new generations are earning in LAKHS in salary from the day one. They are assuming that since they have money – they can control everything.

What are the FACTS?

Nobody is DEPENDENT as PUPPET and nobody is Independent as some of the educated people want to believe. We all are linked with each other. We all are INTER-DEPENDENT.

See the USA is increasing the rates and whole world economy is affected. CHINA slow-down is affecting the world economy. Edward Lorenz, a USA mathematicians. He gave metaphorical example of the details of a tornado (the exact time of formation, the exact path taken) being influenced by minor perturbations such as the flapping of the wings of a distant BUTTERFLY several weeks earlier. He called it BUTTERFLY effects.

We are using AC and other Chilling plants and ICE in the ANTARTICA and other places are melting due to global warming.

The point is everything is interconnected. Steve Jobs gave connecting the dots theory. He shared his life in one lecture and he connected all the events of his life which lead to his success as Apple founder. 

How MANAGEMENT deals with the above?

Typical management books talks about 5M. Man / Machine / Minutes / Money and Methods. They ask to use them optimally. Now, all guys have all the above mentioned resources in various proportions or many times equal also. But some people are more successful than the others.

How we are connected with the Planets?

All MBAs knows that MOON effects the SEA water on POORNIMA and AMAVSYA. The way earth is 70% water, our body is also 70% of water elements. So, many religions asks not to do any new things on AMAVSYA. But our MBA friend would not like to accept that he is affected by MOON’s movements. It hurts his ego.

The same way we all are affected by various planets and their combinations which happens from time to time. Knowing this interconnected scheme of the things – Lord Krishna advised ARJUNA to use 5 factors for holistic success in chapter 18, slok 13-14 of Gita.

What is Lord KRISHNA’s way?

He said consider holistically all the 5 factors and follow CONTINUOUS and NEVER ENDING improvements in them. These 5 factors are…

1.   Vastu. This can be your office / home / city / country and your body. The message is to see the collective destiny. In 2020 – we had seen the collective effects of COVID.

2.   You. What are your inner intent for doing something or not doing something? This will decide your success and failure at the end.

3.   Your Resources. This is nothing but 5M of the management. What management is considers a holy grail of business success is just one factor as per Lord Krishna.

4.   Your Skills to use your resources. Having the best car is one thing and ability to drive on Mumbai road is something else. Pakistan had the best planes in 1972 war but Indian guys were well trained to fly their stuff and we won the war. Skill is the most important point ones you have the best or average resources.

5.   Your LUCK. Normal people considers LUCK as something FIXED. They believe that if they are slated to become MUKESH AMBANI like businessman – they will become any which ways. This is 100% wrong. Vested interest people make you believe this so that they can take you for a ride.

All the above factors are interdependent and you need to consider all of them while you are taking a small or big bet in your investments / business or in life.

What is FINE ART OF DESTINY MANAGEMENT?

If you understand the inter dependence of yourself with others – you can manage your destiny in the best possible way.

Let me share you an example of the MOVIE GHOOMER. There is a girl who is selected in Indian woman cricket team to play against England. She is the best batsman. She lost her right hand in one accident. She became frustrated and thinks about ending her life. Then comes the DESTINY MANAGER in her life. He asked him – do you want to play in the next season for sure? She said I can’t bat as I don’t have one hand. The destiny manager said – yes. You can’t bat. But how about bowling? You can bowl with one hand. Right? She changed her mind.

The point is – your inner talk with yourself / your deep desires for success and failures decide whether you are ready to take the HOLISTIC consideration of all of the above 5 factors towards your business or investment or personal happiness journey.

What NEXT?

Buffett had said – “What wise people do in the beginning, fools do in the end”.
