How 4 kinds of Investors will act in current market situations?



Dear Fellow Travellers,



Greetings from Hitesh! Our post on - What kind of event can be expected In Jammu and Kashmir? - was well-received. If you have missed – you must read and get prepared before the events take place. Off late, most investors call me – what they should do in the current market? Though I have given a categorical call about coming, TEJI – they are still confused. This happens because of their types. If you understand your types – you will be better placed to deal with market and life.



4 kinds of investors: -



1.  Money Minded: - They want only MONEY and nothing else. They want to invest so that they can make fast money. In the process – if others make a loss – they are okay with that. They want to profit at all cost. Since they are hooked to profit – they lose the biggest opportunities for life. Because, when the opportunity comes – it does not look as if it will give money for sure. When it becomes sure – share prices would have moved up like anything.

Thanks to an obsession with money-making – they can be manipulated easily or taken for a ride easily. Their GREED is the cause of their failure.



2.  NEEDY or UNHAPPY investors: - With the economic slowdown there are lot many people who want money to meet their needs. Some are retirees and they want money to make up for their expenses. Some are sick and they want money for their medical expenditure. They want to meet their NEEDS out of the market. They don’t have the SKILL SET or ATTITUDE for the market. All they want is to meet their PURPOSE.



They are also taken for a RIDE by smart operators. They want something for nothing. They want EASY over SIMPLE. These are the guys – who never visited STOCK MARKET or BLAMED STOCK MARKET when they were doing good in their profession or business. The market is fast to recognize such SELFISH PEOPLE and it sucks them out.



3.  CURIOUS INVESTORS: - There are some who come to the market with LET US SEE kind of attitude. They don’t have the skill sets / they don’t have the genuine desire to make money. All they have some money and they want to see what happens. DEEP DOWN they have a belief that – NOBODY MAKES MONEY in the stock market. So, when they also lose (without SKILLS playing) – they conform to their own belief. In many cases, they come to their conclusion with the first transaction or first day. If the share price doesn’t move in a DAY or TWO – they will conclude that the STOCK MARKET is BOGUS.



However, this kind of investor has very high chances of picking up genuine interest, if they keep on the course and when they start learning at a later stage.  



4.  REAL Investors: - They are here to make serious money. They are well prepared for the GAME. They spend a lot of time and resources to master the game

They focus on the businesses they are investing in and they try to be a PARTNER in the business. They are okay with the ups and downs of the business cycle. Their focus is on businesses and not the price. So, they get the best return always. They are the happiest and most successful guys under the sun.



A Beautiful story to explain all the four guys: -



My guru told me a beautiful story. In a small village there was a CHURCH and every Sunday all villagers used to go for prayers. They were poor/sick and needy type. Many were crying in front of JESUS for help.



The priest was feeling helpless looking at their situations. So, one day he prayed to GOD, he said I have never asked anything for me but today I am asking for these poor people. Please do something for them. God listened to his prayers. Next day the town changed / people became healthy and rich. They had food and everything they needed. The priest was happy and thought people will come to thank GOD for the same. Nobody came NEXT Sunday. He was only left in the CHURCH.



Like that 2 years passed. Slowly, he realized that people were not coming to WORSHIP GOD but to fulfill their needs. So, one night he prayed to GOD again and requested HIM to take away all. God again listened to him and the villagers became like what they were earlier.



The MORAL of the story – if at all you get success by being in the first 3 category – success will not last long. The best thing is to become like PRIEST – REAL INVESTOR in our CASE. God was listening to him. Same way MARKET will give hint to the real investors in advance.



What is market telling me?
