For NORMAL guys Celebration of Festivals V/s. Investment Planning both are same

Greetings from Hitesh! The most awaited festival of DIWALI is over. I am sure that you all must have enjoyed the same. I was in deep silence for most part of FESTIVAL and suddenly I could see the parallel between Celebration of Festival and Investment Planning. I am sure it will make an interesting read for all of you.

Celebration of Festivals: -

World over depending on the TRADITIONS / RELIGIONS, people have been prepared with a list of FESTIVALS or OCCASIONS for CELEBRATION from JANUARY TO DECEMBER. In SANSKRIT – there is a saying “UTSAV PRIY JANAH” – people love celebrations. In India, probably, we have the highest number of FESTIVALS or Occasions of celebration thanks to multiplicity and co-existence of various religious and traditions together.

Normal Day Behaviour V/s. Festival Day Behaviour: -

Depending on the Festival – people behave. During Makar Sankranti - people fly kites / Holi play with colours / Diwali – fire crackers / distribute sweets and do lot of pooja. The main thing which separates from ROUTINE day with FESTIVAL day is that people are little more CAREFREE/ MORE HAPPY/ MORE OPEN to LIVE their life (This is ideal case CENARIO).

Thanks to the above FESTIVALS or OCCASSIONS – people go to KITE SHOPS / COULOR SHOPS / SWEET SHOPS / CLOTHES SHOPS and things like that. Now a days – online retailers are acting as one stop shop for all our needs.

For NORMAL guys this becomes too heavy. He runs from PILLAR to POST to keep up with JONESES. He must take part in CELEBRAITON whether he can afford or not. If he avoids taking part – he would lose his community support or earn a BAD NAME. He remains under pressure to arrange money for such extra expenses which a festival may need. Many times, they go for a LOAN to see that their family celebrate. Due to this – his FESTIVE seasons becomes more STRESSFUL than the routine life. For NORMAL house wife – DIWALI brings the TENSTION to clean up the HOUSE/PREPARE Lots of SWEETS and SNACKS. They get busier in DIWALI days then their routine day. In short, the celebration days bring more tensions for NORMAL guys than their routine days. They end up tired – mentally, physically and financially rather than getting rejuvenated.

How INVESTMENT PLANNERS have picked up this in their business?

You have been given lot of reasons to invest. Invest for Education / Marriage / Honeymoon/ Holidays / Delivery of child / Child Education / Child Marriage / Retirement / Tax planning and they can give you N number of other reasons why you should invest.

If you honestly do all the investments – you end up having no money for your current consumptions. So, investment brings tensions for arranging that extra money rather then the pleasures of having a better life tomorrow.

DIVIDE and RULE policy is Dominating: -

Existence has not made any difference with DIWALI day or NORMAL day. Same way, it has made no difference between TOP guys and NORMAL guys in giving basics of life. RAY DALIO puts the same thing very aptly when he says in his book - Principles: Life and Work

“Having the basics—a good bed to sleep in, good relationships, good food, and good sex—is most important, and those things don’t get much better when you have a lot of money or much worse when you have less. And the people one meets at the top aren’t necessarily more special than those one meets at the bottom or in between.”

The difference is created in all areas of life – so that few who are at the top can take the NORMAL guys for a ride with their whims and fancies.

The Chanakya of West - Nicolo Machiavelli, an Italian Diplomat in early 16^th Century, in his famous book “The Prince” has given the guiding principle for the top guys.

“Preach and talk about Morality/Honesty/ Integrity/Hard work and Principle Centered life to the normal people in your state. Make them follow all of the above. You also appear doing the same, but in reality……do the opposite!!”

In recent movie – BAZAAR – it has been shown aptly how a top guy takes a rookie for a ride and makes tons of money. When rookie fights back, he goes to the jail, but he is out in 30 days and start his business again!!

The concept of FESTIVALS and Investment Planning were devised with very noble intentions. But they have become the weapons to exploit masses over a period.

What’s my personal Call?

There can’t be preparation to live life. One MUST live his / her life. When you value your TOMORROW more than TODAY, you waste your TODAY. When TOMORROW comes, you waste it for DAY AFTER TOMORROW. This circle goes on and on. One fine day you find that there will not be any tomorrow for you!!

In the process, you end up wasting, the most precious gift of GOD, LIFE.

Be AWARE of Your life situations as the new year begins. Be with us for just 3 years and you will not have to worry for money, anymore. When you have no worry for money, each day will automatically become FESTIVAL. You will not have to wait for DIWALI to buy new clothes or eat the sweets you love most. You can have anything you desire at your own will.
