for Senior Traders/Investors and Business Persons
Greetings from Hitesh! Readers have appreciated our last
post on Simple principle of Bruce Lee and many have confirmed that they are
also making the same mistake. Thanks a ton for being my regular reader.
When Bruce Lee was at his peak in career, he gave
following strategy for the success in any area. I have found to be as good as
ZEN. I have experienced a rich reward by following his system. I am sharing the
same for the larger benefit of the readers.
At his peak he made a MOVIE - “Enter the Dragon”. This was launched after a week of his death
and I have yet to find a movie, which is so effective in entertaining as well
as giving success formula.
Let me share the
dialogue in the beginning with the SHAOLIN ABBOTT:-
Lee: Teacher?
Shaolin Abbott: I
see your talents have gone beyond the mere physical level. Your skills are now
at the point of spiritual insight. I have several questions.
Shaolin Abbott: What
is the highest technique you hope to achieve?
Lee: To have no
technique.
Shaolin Abbott:
Very good. What are your thoughts when facing an opponent?
Lee: There is no
opponent.
Shaolin Abbott: And
why is that?
Lee: Because the
word “I” does not exist.
Shaolin Abbott: So,

Lee: A good
fight should be like a small play, but played seriously. A good martial artist
does not become tense, but ready. Not thinking, yet not dreaming. Ready for
whatever may come. When the opponent expands, I contract. When he contracts, I
expand. And when there is an opportunity, I do not hit. It hits all by itself.
(Read as many times as you like)
Shaolin Abbott:
Now, you must remember: the enemy has only images and illusions behind
which he hides his true motives. Destroy the image and you will break the
enemy.
This is equal to all the success literature you might have
read in life. Let me deal with it.
Of the 1000s of books and material I have gone through –
this is the SIMPLEST way to find success in investments or in life or in any
other field of your choice.
1st Point :-
The main issue with a NORMAL guy is that “I WANT To Be SUCCESSFUL”.
As long as “I” exist – the other also exist. You want
success / other also wants success. You are planning and following some
STRATEGIES – he is also planning and doing some STRATEGIES. For you – YOU and
SUCCESS are DIFFERENT. As long as you have this DUALITY – you can never become
successful!!
(Just to take a leaf from LORD MAHAVIR – he got KAIWAL
GYAN (KAIWAL means ONLY / GYAN means KNOWLEDGE – ONLY KNOWLEDGE is LEFT). HE
did not get KNOWLEDGE. He became KNOWLEDGE. As BRUCE LEE says – NO “I”)
So, first step TRANSFORM yourself from – I want SUCCESS to I AM SUCCESS. This is going from DOING to BEING.
2nd point:-
When you say I WANT SUCCESS – you are saying others should
not get what I HAVE. ROLEX / PATEK PHILLIP Watches gives you happiness only
because most of the guys are not able to afford it!!
In share market when you say you have made X amount – it
means somebody has lost that X amount. So, your success comes from the FAILURE
of somebody.
This happens when
you have a CONCEPT of OTHERS and I. As
long as you have these concepts – you can never follow TRUE AHIMSA or TRUE
RELIGION. Just think.
3rd Point :-
When you say “I want SUCCESS” you are saving / protecting
“I” while you go in search of SUCCESS. Here “I” is PRIMANY and SUCCESS is
secondary. And as long as “I” is protected – You will never become SUCCESS and
you will FEEL something is missing in the END – (once you got everything you
wanted). This will deprive you from the HAPPINESS of being successful. Many
successful guys goes towards DRUGS due to this.
Those who become successful like this – they have more
problems NOW – as they have to PROTECT two things their “I” and their “SUCCESS”
(MONEY/PRESTIGE/BEAUTIFUL WIFE).
If you study the life of most successful guys – say STEVE
JOBS – you will find he became HIS PURPOSE. HE WAS NOT THERE – JUST PURPOSE to
INNOVATE and CREATE WAS THERE. That was the reason he was NOT VERY NICE when
dealing with his colleagues or subordinates. He didn’t care to become a NICE
guy. He had become SUCCESS before HE DIED.
NOW LET US DEAL WITH OPPONENT:-
Say you have transformed from I want SUCCESS to I
am SUCCESS – so for you there is no OPPNENT.
But the other guys are still in the look out of OLD way of
success – which you were following in PAST ( i.e. before you BECAME SUCCESS).
So, for them– there “I” exist and for them you are an OPPNENT. So, you must
KNOW how to deal with them.
Here is the TECHNIQUE (Actually NO TECHINIQUE):-
1.A good fight should be like a small
play, but played seriously.
It is a PLAY or LEELA as known In Indian terminology. You
are playing it seriously not because you want something out of it – but because
you are forced to play – thanks to NORMAL guy in front of you seeing you as
his opponent. (Keep this in mind).
2.A good martial artist does not
become tense, but ready.
Since you do not want to GAIN anything out of the
above, you are not worried for LOSSES also. So, you are NEVER TENSED. You are
just prepared.
3.Not thinking, yet not dreaming.
Ready for whatever may come.
Not thinking and not dreaming. This
point is called the SHUBH MUHURTA. Traditionally, we go to an astrologer for
SHUBH MUHURTA. But the moment your mind stops, that moment is shubh muhurta and
you should begin any new things with NO MIND.
When you invest – you are always thinking how much I will
gain and dreaming what will you do with those money!!
Here you are just ready for whatever happens. This can
only happen when “I” is not there and you are just PLAYING for the sake of
playing.
Just see BUFFETT is perfectly okay if market closes for 10
years after his investments are done. He can say this only because for him –
Investment is a SERIOUS PLAY. He is able to invest is a SUCCESS for HIM!! He
has nothing to gain!! (Most guys will find this difficult to understand and
digest). He donated most of his money with small portion to all his children.
4.When the opponent expands, I contract. When he
contracts, I expand.
You just do opposite of what market is doing. If it goes
down – you just go on buying and if goes up – you just go on selling.
5.And when there is an opportunity, I do not hit. It hits
all by itself.
This is the most important factor – most guys do not
understand. He is talking about BEING and not DOING. As long as you have “I” –
you will do. But when you become SUCCESS – you are in BEING!! Just think. You
don’t have to do anything, it just happens on its own.
I would have gone through at least 50 commentaries to
understand the famous slok of GEETA. Most commentators were explaining – do
without expectations and things like that. But DOING can’t happen without
expectation. It’s BEING that can happen.
Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana,
Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani
If you are reading this SLOK from DOING PARADIGM – you
will never be able to follow what Lord KRISHNA says. For this you have to go
into BEING first!!
NOW the MASTER STROKE:-
ABBOTT is talking about TRUE AHIMSA –
The enemy has only images and illusions behind which he
hides his true motives. Destroy the image and you will break the enemy.
You are not there to KILL somebody. You just find out the
hidden motive and destroy them. TRUE AHIMSA.
When a market goes down or up – lot of analyses comes up
WHY this and WHY NOT this. Your whole life will be short – if you understand
each and every reason. Moreover, you will have so many factors to consider that
you will fail to analyze correctly. You will get puzzled. We have dealt with
WHY in detail in yesterday’s post.
Don’t look at why they are doing? Just find out WHAT they
are doing? It will be more EASY and ACCURATE to find out. Once you know that –
your action will be AUTOMATIC!!
My Personal Experiences:-
Just to share two examples – though I have written all my
posts so far – more than 5000 – but I have not written any post with
Consciousness. It has just come out of me and the force is so fast that – you
will find many spelling mistakes or grammatical mistakes in my posts. It is
BEING and not DOING for me. Writing has become a SUCCESS for ME!!
When I am in front of the SCREEN for my personal Trading –
I just press some buttons for buy and sell. As BRUCE LEE says – And when there is an opportunity, I do not hit.
It hits all by itself. I am sure many TRADERS would have
experienced this.
What NEXT?
This is the biggest gift BRUCE LEE has given to all of us
through his MOVIE. He does not want you to stop at getting SUCCESS. He wants
you to become SUCCESS!!
